It could be that you must be more modest with yourself: Get what help you can with your depression (perhaps even medication/some therapy may help you through this transition?) and be gentle on yourself until it passes. Line 4 is sometimes read as "I am not at ease in my mind" which describes the depressed state and perhaps how you feel about the internship. How do I pull myself out of this depression?
Hexagram 56.4.6 into Hexagram 15.
I interpreted this in 56 as in I am not at ease in my mind. Things are dark. This says even though I have a temporary job (internship), I am still not glad. Line 6 implies I have hurt myself and lost a potential friend? Hexagram 15 is modesty....but doesnt say how to pull myself out.
I would not read this as unfavorable. As Dragona said, your depression makes all look gray now. Conflict may be within yourself, and "a cautious halt halfway brings good fortune." I did not mean to suggest you had hurt anyone: Could she have unfairly hurt you? If so, be kind to yourself. You sound like you are struggling as best you can. Yes, 25.1.2 should be read as favorable: Unfortunately, my computer is messed up and I cannot click on links to paste any text. Hang in there.:bows:I would never try to hurt someone else. I was just looking to be friends, but since I am shy and don't talk much, sometimes I can come off as aloof even though I tried to make eye contact she averted her eyes and darted in the opposite direction.
Anyway, foxx777 - I asked the i-ching the question you suggested. What step can I take to begin the process out of this impasse now? Doesn't look favorable though.
Hexagram 25.1.2 into Hexagram 6. I take this as as not good because of hexagram 6 conflict. There is nothing I can do. Hexagram 25.1.2 seems favorable that I will get through this feeling of unease/shock but hexagram 6 implies no progress?
Dragona - I was kinda of referring to 2 things when I threw this regarding my entire situation both job wise and someone I wished to meet. But since the job thing is going for me, I was looking forward to the former but that didn't happen either. So now I just need keep my head above the water somehow.
So now I just need keep my head above the water somehow.
You could focus on your job and be very conscientious about all the details and routines involved. That could be your "point of recovery," as Dragona said. If you lose your job because of this depression, everything will be much, much worse. Depression tends to make us forget to get to work on time and so forth, so sticking to the routine and doing what's expected of us can be a lifesaver when we're down in the dumps.
It's spring and there may be opportunities to be out in nature where the trees and grass are oh-so-green. Just being outdoors in the sunlight can help lift a depression. Any kind of athletic activity, even taking a walk, is very good, too.
Is there anything I can do to prolong my internship? Hexagram 22.4 into Hexagram 30
GRACE has success.
In small matters
It is favorable to undertake something.

Thus does the superior man proceed
When clearing up current affairs.
But he dare not decide controversial issues in this way.
