Hello Forum, I have been asking the same question two times and got the same answer.
My husband is diabetic and lately (since about 2 months) his sugar is very high, I can't get it down, in my mind it's all in his head because I don't think it's his food.
He is very unsatisfied and frustrated about his work and the character from a diabetic person is that not only the wrong food can raise their sugar but by nature they can get very nervous.

So I have been asking 1 month ago "Why is his sugar so high" ? , again today I asked the same question and again I got the same answer 48.5 > 46.

Line 5 Shows a clear, limpid well, the waters from whose cold spring are freely drunk.

But I don't understand how this answers my question.

Than I asked, "how looks the future for his health" ? and got 3.2.6 > 61

Line 2 Shows (its subject) distressed and obliged to return.
Even the horses of her chariot seem to be retreating. Not by a spoiler is she assailed, but by one who seeks her to be his wife. The young lady maintains her firm correctness, and declines a union. After ten years she will be united, and have children.

Line 6 Shows its subject with the horses of his chariot obliged to retreat, and weeping tears of blood in streams.

This scares me
and than it goes to Hex 61 Inner Truth

Finally I asked, "What should he do to stabilize his sugar ? "
63.2 > 5
Line 2 Shows its subject as a wife who has lost her carriage-screen.
There is no occasion to go in pursuit of it. In seven days she will find it.

and than it goes to Hex 5 Waiting

Can anybody help me with this ?

From 48.5 to 46: 2 hexagrams are wood, so problems are in absorption of vegetables in his digestion, and in functioning of his liver.

Luce, since this website is really about the Yi, I'll keep my response short. I will say, however, that I too have diabetes. I recently attended a diabetes education class where I learned a great deal about managing my blood sugar. They also told us about different instances when people can have high blood sugar readings, not completely related to carbs and sugars (though they play a factor), including stress and lack of sleep.

I would strongly suggest that you don't rely totally on the Yi's response here, but to seek qualified help. Diabetes can have very serious and even deadly results, but on the other hand, it is very manageable, given that you actually deal with it and manage it.

If you want to know more, I assume you can send me a private message and I'll respond.

If I have time, I'll take a look at your reading and try to to respond there as well.

Regards, David.

Nigel Richmond says of Hex. 48:

Obtaining water form the well takes:
some effort,
some equipment,
some skill

I'd suggest that for healing this could mean that support / sustenance are available, but requires your effort to dip the bucket into the well and to pull up the bucket. This Hexagram also suggests the idea or need for maintaining: you have to keep the rope long enough and in good shape, keep the bucket without holes, and keep the well clean and free of dirt and vermin. In other words, grace happens through our actions and attention to things, not to merely hoping and thinking (however important those might be).

48.5 - The Well has a clear, cold spring to drink from.

Your well has a good, lasting source, (good roots might be another way to look at it). It suggests that your efforts won't be used up or go to waste, but that use/action leads to more (support, success, sustenance, etc).

46 - relating hexagram: Advancement, Ascending. "The young tree crafts itself underground."

The greatest tree starts its advance and ascent within the earth, unseen, below ground. So too your early (but important) efforts, may not be immediately evident (like tendrils and roots feeling their way through the earth). Still, this shouldn't stop or discourage you (or your husband) from taking first steps, to start your healing.

I also like to look at the Ideal Hexagram (a construct of Stephen Karcher) for what might be the best way to look at this situation. Here it is 19 - Approach, Taking Charge.

"Don't put the cart before the horse," could be one way to look at this. It is the idea of action, but in its proper time and sequence: for example, you may want to 'take charge' and harvest your crops now, but to 'approach' your harvest, you have to first clear and plow your field, and sow seeds. It is great to "keep your eyes upon the prize," but plowing and sowing come before harvesting.

Regards, David.
