Dear all

It has been quite a while since I had entered any information on this site, I have for the past 2.5 years been going through some real tough times in my personal life.

It started when I was made redundant from my job, up until that point i have been on a real high, job etc going real well, one day we were called into the office and told that our contracts are about to end.. soon after this i went and found another job, however this went from bad to worse.I resigned 6 months into this which left me in a position of real fear, a family to support...and no job.....I jumped into a retail post which was a 1/3 of what I was earning and stayed here for about 6 months again, I have now for over a year been in a steady but challenging role. I have moved away from IT into training, rather selling training, i have kept my toe into the IT field by conducting demos part-time and do still enjoy working in this field.

I have today recived an email from a friend who I used to work with and asking me if I would be intrested in a job in training poeple in IT. My first thoughts were great, go for it, however, I am now looking at what it can offer me etc,i have been online and entered my question

what can this hp job offer me?

The response 20 changing at the top.

To me this means I am getting closer to something good, move forward and go for an interview, but hold back is what I am picking up...can anyone please help me, i don't want to jump for the sake of jumping, this has to be a long term career...

thanks

It's my view that the Yi acts like a catalyst to help you process information you already possess. So in a sense, the more you know, the more you get out of consulting the Yi. My read here: Don't make any firm commitments yet, but go for the interview and gather as much information as you can. Then quiz the Yi again.

Yeah, Hex 20's about looking and contemplating rather than acting. Keep your eyes open. 20.6 also has a connection of sorts with Hex 8, which talks about uniting around an idea or group or organization. Sounds possible.

Hello MST

hexagram 20 is very much a teaching hexagram. In 19 the students approach, in 20 the leaders "spread their commands abroad." I don't have my book with me, but I think hexagram 20 line 6 says something to the effect of, contemplation of his life... And this changes into hexagram 8 where a leader brings people together by the strength of his personality, yet caringly rather than by force as in hexagram 7. The top two lines of hexagram 20 are the strong lines that give the teaching to the masses below. (The lower trigram is k'un, which relates to the masses, and devotion. The lower trigram is devoted to the teachings delivered in the upper trigram. This actually sounds very promising. I could get into this deeper, but I think that answers the question.

Good luck

Dear All

I had the interview, they have offered me the post, a strange situation opened itself, the person who interviewed me was someone I knew years ago,we both clashed in personalities, however at this interview we both seemed to be more mature and I felt a sense of relief, almost that I had to complete this part of my life before I could move on, I wanted an opportunity to speak with this person so that I could show him that we could work well together.....I feel excited and sad, sad because a part of me that hs achieived so much will now be left behind, a part that I have worked hard to move part of my life forward. I have just asked two questions, the first one, what would happen If I stayed at Intec (my current job) I received 55 changing @ 3&5 changing to 17. The second I asked, what would happen if I took up this new 58 moving @6 changing to 10. Although they are both strong signs, I feel that I could persuade and become part of a more accepted a group if I were to take up this new post; it is almost suggests that i could indirectly lead people...so I think I am going to take up this new post...any thoughts would be welcomed though

Hello,

I don't know if you are still looking for input on this question so I'll keep my comments brief. If you focus on the 5th line of hexagram 55 you can see what a positive indication it is. The resulting hexagram 17 is also a very positive sign. The top line of hexagram 58 doesn't state any kind of misfortune however it could be considered a mild warning. The resulting hexagram 10 is not a positive sign. I can tell you from my own experience that walking the tail of the tiger is a difficult position to be in.
Hope all turns out well.

55.3.5 is more auspicious than 58.6. The Hex 55 cluster talks about a certain degree of powerlessness in the situation, but also there's some kind of brilliance which arrives. By contrast 58.6 talks only about continuing to express yourself (this might have been the Yi making a wry comment on your continuing to ask questions of it when you already either had all the information you needed, or already knew the answer but weren't admitting it to yourself.)

I'd like to tweak something Alan said as well - he said Hex 10 is not a positive sign, which is not exactly right. It's true it involves some risk through which you have to tread carefully to avoid to avoid getting hurt, but there's real attainment involved, which is definitely positive.

Having said that, Hex 17 by comparison is a rosier direction than Hex 10.
