Distant friend

Hi,

Lately a good friend of mine has been acting distant towards myself and some other people in our group. I really cherish his friendship and miss him. I asked the I-Ching about the current situation of my friend and myself and got
Hexagram 39 with lines 3 & 4 changing to Hexagram 45. Can anyone help me interpret this?

At frst blush,questioning whether he belongs there, whether his whole life is moving in the right direction, whether change will require a full 180, not feeling like he can express his true self there, and generally feeling insecure and out of place.
Someone has to open this subject up for discussion.
Maybe let him know in advance that you can hear something you don't want to hear.

I think your friend might need some help but either doesn't realize it or doesn't know how to ask. It sounds like he going through something, 39 is about facing obstacles, but both moving lines suggest he cannot take direct action to solve the problem, and he should take advice from other people. 45 is about joining a group. Whether that refers to you and your friends helping or the aid of some other group I'm not sure. But I do think you should talk to him and find out what is going on and how/if you can help.
