Before I get to my new cast, a very short I Ching history of Brexit casts on Clarity:

  1. On 26 March 2017, gael123 asked, "how Brexit will pan out for the UK", and got 24.1.6 > 23. Three days later, the UK prime minister triggered article 50 (i.e. the decision to leave the EU).
  2. On 30 March 2017, a day after article 50 had been triggered (i.e. the decision to leave the UK), susannah asked, "what is your opinion on Brexit?", and got 47.6 > 6. I wrote on that thread that it would most probably not happen in two years, and here we are almost three years later and it still hasn't fully materialised. Please note hexagram 6 here, because it appears again in my today's cast.
  3. On 08 March 2019, veavea asked, "whether we would crash out of the EU with no deal and enter complete chaos or would things remain the same as ever", and got 51.6 > 21. She correctly interpreted it that there would be continued shocks and uncertainty, more impasses (since March 2019 there have been multiple delays of a Brexit date).
  4. On 03 October 2019, I asked "Will there be a no-deal Brexit on 31 October? 30.1 > 56, and also "Will there be any type of Brexit/split on 31 October? 12.2.3.5 > 50". The answer to both questions turned out as no.

Today I asked:
Will there be Brexit on 31 January, as currently planned by the UK government?
6.2.4.5.6 > 2

I had this cast about a bizarre flirting story. There was a guy where I worked, who flirted a lot with me, but in a very weird manner. Initially he did the standard of looking at me intensely, smiling, 'accidentally' touching me when we spoke. I reciprocated. But he then proceeded to show anger and resentment when he heard that I had a lovely holiday (!), he kept whining every single time about all the never-ending drama in his life (charming...), he told me that he's unhappy with his girlfriend because she wants commitment (!), and that he has no money because his ex wife drained him (ok...), while still looking at me intensely, etc etc. It was obvious that he didn't have any intentions to ask me out, and yet he continued this game, I'm certain with the purpose to force me to ask him out (I didn't). After a few months of this weird situation, I asked the I Ching, "what will happen between us till the end of this year?". And got this cast. Result: I never saw him again. He left the work environment, and of course he never asked me out. I felt great relief, because the whole thing was stressing me out (6 also means stress).

So... back to the Brexit divorce case... I'm thinking that perhaps it will happen this time - the conflict and stress are over and then 'empty'. On 31 January. Or maybe even sooner, because the lines change so quickly. What do you guys think?

Update

Yesterday, Friday 20 December 2019, the UK parliament approved of the prime minister's Brexit deal. It was the 5th time they voted on this, all previous times it was rejected. The Guardian newspaper online wrote:

"Addressing MPs on Friday morning, the prime minister sought to draw a line under three years of bitter parliamentary conflict, urging his colleagues to “discard the old labels of leave and remain”."
