I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I should have my company participate in a trade show. Here is my question and response. Any insight please.

What if I set a booth up at the _______ show? Please show me what this might lead to!

Hexagram 51 changing to 3

Thanks

hmm. I would say that this show will definitely come with at least few surprise problems, especially at the beginning.
It would at least be exciting and should stir up new opportunities, however IMO it would probably be a challenge and possibly more stressful than you had imagined. Lot's of interacting, competition to be heard. Is the trade show online?
If the show is outdoors I would prepare for the possibility of bad weather.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. It is your typical show in a convention center where we have a booth with other vendors around me. Many people come to the convention centre and look at new vendors and new products.

Your comment still makes me wonder whether or not I should attend. The main goal is to get New customers and opportunities but at what cost?? Sounds like it might be more trouble then it's worth. Stressful Challenges do not scare me as long as I get great exposure and great opportunities. If you were in my position would you attend the show with this advice. Once again thanks for commenting

Hi Sattva,
Well, my first feeling I got from your second hexagram is that to have this trade show be of lasting value you need to really consider how your booth will be seen. How will you really be able to show the value of your product in such a situation? In a way you won't be lost in the throng ? This is the conversation the yi seems to be engaging, do you have much experience doing these kinds of shows? It seems that the yi is warning you that the challenge may be in that... perhaps you could just come as an observer this time and figure out what seems to be the best advertising strategies?

that was just my gut feeling when I saw the hex.

Interesting. The show is trying to put me into a new section that they created for companies like mine. I really didn't like the idea at first. This confirms my feelings. New question

What if I don't go into the booth that they want me to go in. I find another booth on the main floor. What would the results be?

Hi again,

Well, the surprise information of being put into (perhaps isolated into) the new section reflect quite well in your two previous hexes. I would be very wary, if i were you, of the actual effect on exposure being in this section might have.

17.4-->3 The yi could be saying that by trying to control the situation, you may end up in even more of a muddle. Be careful of being dishonest.

3 shows up again! It's confusing to deal with preparing for something when you don't yet have all the information about it that you will need. Wait for more information, if you can delay commiting to it.
