Siu in the commentaries paints less horrific picture, nevertheless it's not something to be called favourable:

The man forges upward too abruptly in his restlessness. Others cannot bear his unseemly manner, and he consumes himself like the fire.

Cleary:

Why wait until burning out that this is not the way to a good end?

30.4 can also signify over-enthusiasm.
So, in general I don't think you should go for it.

It's impossible to say without context and I don't understand your question. Should you take something as a possible scenario ? Does that mean is something the way you think it is ? Impossible to say here with no context...only you would know.

I don't think 30.4 is awful...it merely says

'Sudden, it comes,
Burns,
Dies,
Thrown out' from Hilary's book


...that's all. That's all there is.....something that burns out quickly. There is no judgment attached to that. It might be a fleeting perception or feeling or enthusiasm...or event. We don't know as we don't know what the question is about. 30.2 shows clear understanding. It's strange to have 30.4 with 26 as the relating hexagram...26 showing maybe resources held in reserve. Perhaps this is something you wait to 'use up'.....like a jam donut....but once it's gone it's gone.

I felt the reading was close because it really looks like my attitude towards the event can be called "a burn-out". 30 is clarity. Question was more of an utopian kind. So it says won't be too long befote your eyes open up to see clearly. And your initial query will be simply irrelevant, burning itself. Very true.

I was betting on the event to happen in the future. 26 means my expectations maybe like you said the reserve on hold, which is gone in ashes once I see picture clearly.
