Hello All,Iam new to the site and young yet in the way,But I have been practicing the last three years.Iam longing to go much deeper and look at other possible interpretations besides my own,so please bare w/me.
When I asked of a new busuness venture {which I love the thought w/every fiber of my being}But very conflicted because of the nature of the business.I drew #58 1&6 changing.Which leads to #6 CONFLICT is that conflict within myself or is this what may follow the venture itself.I would venture to say its within myself,But the business lacks character still yet to the community. ummmm any thoughts?:bows:

I don't find your answer easy to interpret, so I don't think I can help much, but as noone else has come along yet.... Excited but conflicted seems to sum it up yes - my mind boggles at what kind of business it may be lol. Is it that one part of you thinks its a good idea and the other doesn't is that the dilemma ? I've heard it said that when the first and sixth line change it means one moves through a situation very quickly - and if the business is to do with providing pleasure/enjoyment for others that would fit 58 well. I also heard 58 has much to do with marketing - perhaps what you have to look out for here is that this isn't a business with lasting potential - a client takes what they want moves on - but is it something they' ll return to ?

You are caught up in the initial excitement of this new venture. You need to calm yourself down and be clear what it is you want from it. If you do not become clear and able to talk and explain yourself to others then you will come unstuck. Give youself fully to the project and be accomodating of other peoples wants and needs. There are a lot of things that you need to overcome to be successful but successful you can be through good communication and planning.

Yes this would be a business that lots of people would return to,LOL.But some aspects are still controversial,I have all the support i need from city officals.I assume becouse i feel so strong for the cause,It engolfs my bones as if i cant go on without doing this like it really feels destine. This business Is in the relm of herbal healing along w/meditation,accupuncture,message,And baked goods all natual foods...Amoung other controversial legal items,Iam torn And iam really tring to figure out why???I will be in the spotlight I will have to educate my communuty. But I belive in doing my bliss which is helping others and find great pleasure and satisfaction in doing that,But my ego may take a beating,Iam i ready for that??

Herbal healing, acupuncture, I see ! - when you said it was controversial I had the idea of a lap dancing parlour or something. Hmm anyway yes i agree with what Mike said, don't get too carried away by what you see as the joy of the project, giving people what they want to buy and making money out of it is what will keep it going.

Actually where i see the conflict is what you say about having to educate your community - the thing is to function as a business you have to give people what they want - doesn't it cost you to put time into educating them about what they want ? Your passion could be inspiring (58.1) but also cause you fall into self indulgence (58.6)over the whole project.

I see it around where I live all the time, people open shops full of enthusiasm for their goods but having given no thought to who is around that will want to buy them (and hence shortly have to close down) - they are blinded in a sense by their own joy about the whole thing - joys good but have a thought about how joyful those in the environment are about paying for the things you love.

It sounds like you are approaching the venture almost like a crusade - but remember its a business, it will fold without others interest. If you have to struggle to get that interest could be tough - maybe you might do a little more market research about what people want to buy now and then gradually introduce your more 'controversial' ideas later when there are already steady customers.

Agreeing with what Trojan said. Further, if you use the technique of taking the change lines one at a time and noting the hexagrams that are formed that way, you get some added information. That is, 58.1 changes to 47. 47.Oppression specifically says, "When someone has something to say it is not believed." If your new business is going to require educating/selling, I would think this hexagram is particularly picking up on your concern that you be able to do this. However, following this technique further, you then would read 47.6 and this line is actually quite encouraging: "...if one makes a start, good fortune comes." So this seems to suggest that while you have concerns and are worried, once you actually get going you will master the oppression.

58.1 > 47.6 > 6

6. Conflict
CONFLICT. You are sincere
And are being obstructed.
A cautious halt halfway brings good fortune.
going through to the end brings misfortune.
It furthers one to see the great man.
It does not further one to cross the great water.

Thus in all his transactions the superior man
Carefully considers the beginning.

I think Conflict gets a bad rap. People often read it as a death sentance. But actually Conflict is advice on how to AVOID conflict. It's just that so often people fail to follow the advice that it might as well be a prediction for failure. The advice is to have a good plan that all agree on from the beginning. If in thinking through your business plan you come up against a possible glitch, 6.Conflict cautions not to just sweep it under the carpet (or 58.6, be seduced by your own enthusiasm). See a Great Man, discuss your plan with someone who is impartial, before you go too far out on a limb. You may find that rather than being guided to desist, the Universe is just trying to guide you to a way of doing this more easily. 6.Conflict does lead to 7.The Army. Perhaps ultimately your project attracts a whole army of support!

Still chewing on this and trying to put the hexagrams into a connected thought...

58.1 > 47.6 > 6

58.1 You have an idea you are enthusiastic about but you don't know if anyone else will share your interest.

47.6 Once you start really looking into it, however, the project does seem doable, at least there seems to be possibilities worth persuing.

6. Just don't go too far too fast. As conflicts emerge, dissolve them before going forward.
