So my landlord has decided to sell the house myself & my daughter have been living in for 8 & a half years. Obviously this is very stressful & sad as we've laid down roots here, my daughter plays out with her friends, goes to a local school etc.
I have been searching since last October but nothing has come to anything & our move out deadline is looming in less than 2wks. I've already told the landlord this & that it's not possible for us to leave until we find another place to go to, he seemed understanding just stating that the estate agents would be in touch to put up the "for sale" sign & do energy test on the house etc. But I get the impression he thinks I just need a few extra weeks.

A little info on why it's been so difficult: My country is currently going through the worst housing crisis in it's history. The banks aren't lending for mortgages like they used to, so have forced more & more onto the rental market. Which has pushed rent prices up to astronomical levels eg. in the past 2yrs everywhere in my estate have almost doubled in price per month! So that's almost €2000 a mth (not including any bills) for a small 2 bedroom place, no garden in one of the cheapest parts of the city. To add to this there is no rent control so landlords can pretty much can come up with any price they like.
To make matter's worse there is also a severe lack of properties to rent in the first place. A quick look this morning on the countries most popular renting site says there is currently just over 10 thousand properties to let in the entire country at the moment......my city's population is just shy of 4 million! :O
So as you can see it's a major crisis; but the government refuse to do anything, mainly because the majority of politicians are landlords!
Meanwhile working families are being forced to live in hostels & hotels (hotels are now at full capacity) & people incl professionals forced to live in bunk beds stacked in a shared room & still pay a hefty price for the "luxury".

This is obviously an insane way to be forced to live so I have already made up my mind to leave the country & start up somewhere else. I am due to start a course in September here so I'll have a fresh qualification under my belt when I leave to give me better job prospects. The plan is to stick it out till next summer when my daughter finishes up her school year & I complete my course & search for new schools in Europe for my daughter, work for myself & somewhere where the language barrier isn't going to be a big problem until we both pick it up. Alot I know!

In the meantime I'll have to just suck it up & pay those crazy rent prices out of my savings. I am freaking out a bit though cause in 6mths I haven't been able to secure a place to live & am afraid that we're going to have to move into a homeless shelter :(
The only card I have left to play is that my landlord never gave me the legal notice that was suppose to be included with the notice he originally gave me, therefore making it invalid. I had told him of this (I'm required to by law) & he served me the proper legal notice which has bought me a few more months (although I'm pretty sure he's not aware of how many days I legally have left).

I am constantly online, searching, searching, searching! And 2 days ago managed to find a place close by & made contact quite quickly with the landlord so had my hopes up, trying to say positive. She contacted me (most don't even bother!) apologising that she couldn't offer me a viewing as she's already had 2000 enquires in a few hours & had to take the ad down cause it was overwhelming!

So I asked: "Will I find a place to live soon?" - 6.2.4 > 20

Conflict! These lines look really bad!
Anyone else have any experience with these lines, or the resulting Hex? Or any other interpretations at all?

Yes, when I was in a similar position I know I got line 2 for sure. The landlord wanted the house back and with only 2 weeks to go we couldn't find anywhere. I wanted to stay in the area we were in but we couldn't find anything. In the end the landlord gave us another 6 months. I recall asking if I could stay in the town we were in, if we'd find anywhere. I got 6.2 and no I couldn't because the only place that offered itself was back in the city 12 miles or so away. So we did move back and line 2 turned out very literally there....so when you said

This is obviously an insane way to be forced to live so I have already made up my mind to leave the country & start up somewhere else

I thought yes that's the way to go but I appreciate this is a huge move...more than 12 miles. Also in line 2 let me quote from Hilary's translation

'Cannot master this argument,
Return home, escape to your town's people,
Three hundred households.
No blunder.'

I think for me this was quite literal in needing to get back to 'my town's people' because as events transpired in the end I needed to be near them. So what is your home and where are your town's people because it looks like that is where you need to turn to, to where you have long established contacts. Of course the line may not play out so literally for you but if it doesn't seem to apply I recommend really pondering what this line is saying (hex 20). I think it's clear here you cannot win in the way you currently want to, you must go towards support.

Also line 4, again from Hilary's translation

'Cannot master this argument,
Returning and taking up the mandate.
With a change of heart, peaceful constancy is good fortune.'

It's looking fairly clear, as you already described the reasons...you cannot win this and it appears you do a lot better when you stop trying, when you accept things.

You'll have to excuse me and not take my interpretation exactly because there's so much in your situation I'm not aware of. I'm sure you will say 'how can I stop trying !' and I agree...but this kind of change of heart isn't giving up in hopelessness, it's more like accepting where life is taking you.

I don't know how these lines can apply for you but you have 20 as relating hexagram and so you need to get a birdseye view of all this without rushing into anything.

I don't like to say you won't get anywhere because even with all the housing statistics, well sometimes one somehow finds a way through...but here it just seems that it's suggested you are really fighting the situation and you need to let go possibly into a fall back position.

I hope I haven't depressed you. It sounds like a dreadful situation but this really isn't a dreadful reading. Overall it appears to be a reading where you find relief in acceptance of not getting exactly what you want now. You have my sincere sympathies.

If you put these lines together to make a story, which I've seen Hilary do, what story do you see ?

'Cannot master this argument,
Return home, escape to your town's people,
Three hundred households.
No blunder.'
'Cannot master this argument,
Returning and taking up the mandate.
With a change of heart, peaceful constancy is good fortune.'

I think Trojina talks a lot of real sense here - and I cannot add anything - you have my sympathies.

It might be useful to know that I had this reading in 1985 - a similar situation, although it also involved a relationship. I am in the process of selling a house right now, and need to look at the possibilities so am thinking of houses and possibilities at the moment. The outcome for me then was that I had focussed on an either or situation. I wanted more time to stay at the house, and had left it far too late to find an alternative. I did find something, very last minute, a short term solution where I looked after someones animals in return for reduced rent...

What I remember, however, very vividly was that I had hoped, and almost expected that I could stay in the house for longer...which I had spent far too long on thinking about. I should have been exploring other options with more vigour, and almost taking a less than suitable alternative, to avoid a brinkmanship deal. Nothing went really wrong, but given your situation, I would suggest that you focus less on the legal, moral or otherwise situation regarding your present address and more on the options available to you.

This is not at all giving you a bad scenario casting, but is telling you to think outside the box, however daunting it may feel.

I am agreeing with Trojina's take on your reading. Is it possible for you to return to your place of origin? I wish you the best. Your situation is all too common nowadays and since you have a child with you it is even more heartbreaking.

Maybe do a reading on moving back home and see what the oracle says?

Thank you all for sharing your insights & experiences it's very much appreciated!

I live in my home city, not that far from where I grew up, from 10yrs old onwards. I'm pretty sure now that line 1 is directly referring to my family home. My parent's 4/5 bed house is a 5min walk from my daughters school, with 3 adults living in it; my mother, my father & my sister with her 2 dogs. There are 2 free bedrooms there but they have never been offered this whole time. In fact my mother has stated that not a single item of ours is to be stored in the house while we go live in a hostel. My sister has voiced her disgust at my parents inaction to help when they are in a position to do so & lack of compassion with the situation, but all she got in return was a hail of nasty words & a threat to be kicked out by my mother, whilst my father just sat there in silence. My sister no longer talks to them now.
This would be a typical scenario with my parents & always has been; my mother is an aggressively self entitled woman who has done & said some extremely nasty & vile stuff to mostly myself but also my sister since we were little kids. And my dad's way of dealing with anything in life is to ignore it in the hope it goes away by itself, essentially not dealing with it all. Which really explains their marriage: They have been "getting divorced" & "selling the house" for 20+ years! In all this time they have been living in the same house in separate rooms, living separate lives, both in other relationships, both back bitching to myself & my siblings about each other. The whole time my dad has been paying all bills, food etc. in the house, my mother taking full advantage knowing my dad is never going to really push for a divorce, living for free, my dad resenting her the whole time for it yet continuing to pay & live like that. Probably the dictionary definition of a dysfunctional family.
Although there has finally been a stirring on the divorce front & they seem to have had some legal dealings, & are again talking about selling up, which in turn has only escalated my mother's aggressive possessiveness over the house. It's a very volatile place & not somewhere I'd voluntarily go....not that it's been offered anyway.

Butterfly spider it's funny you should say think outside the box, as I've always been one for unconventional ways of getting round things that seem impossible & making things work! I had a great idea the night I had done the reading; at the back of my parents is a large garage with back entrance access - I thought since they're selling the house why don't I put an offer in for the garage with my life savings! It's just concrete now but I could do it up into a flat or if I managed to get planning permission & extra funds a little house! I have said it to my dad but I don't think he took it seriously, plus he's the biggest procrastinator on the planet so I'm not pinning my hopes on that idea.

Also by coincidence I found a reply to an email that I had totally missed - there is a government agency set up for housing assistance that can help with extra finances for rent in scenarios like mine, although their rental limits are far below the current market prices, they can & have been making exceptions on a case by case basis, although anywhere I've been finding is still well above their limits. After an initial phone call with a really helpful man who said they were very aware of the current situation & prices, said they can & will help; It has taken me months to get a "real person" official answer. They take 3 weeks to reply to each email & kept just giving me a copy & paste response of stuff I'd already done. Finally there is was in my spam folder - written confirmation that they can help, they can increase it but they can't tell me by how much! So if I do manage to secure a place (knowing it's well above their limits) & I apply & they can't offer me enough to meet the monthly rent I'll be stuck with a min of a year's lease with no hope of being able to pay it - argh! It's a sliver of hope but a risk.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with seeking support as the lines said.

I am going to ask a follow up question for some guidance as I'm still at a loss on what I can do.

So I asked a follow up question the other night:

What is my best course of action to find a new home? - 20.1.3 >37

Hex 20 AGAIN?!? I'm really not sure of this as the lines seem to speak alot of introspection & inaction. Anyone any ideas?
And the relating Hex 37 - Family....well the Iching couldn't make it any clearer!!!

Initially I thought this might be in reference to my move to Europe. When I originally got my notice that the landlord was selling an old & very good friend of mine contacted me & told me that herself & her husband with the kids were intending to move over to Europe & that I should come with them. It's a country that my friend lived in for almost 10yrs & I spent alot of time visiting her in the various cities she lived in over there for that time. I know the country pretty well, I've already grasped the basics of the language, the job prospects & education is good, we'd all have each other & most importantly the kids would have each other making it an easier & happier transition. The only problem is she said they may have to wait for a maximum of 4yrs for this to happen as the company her husband works for is planning on closing down & he's on contract. Although she reckons the company will fold alot sooner than that.
I thought Hex 37 might possibly be in reference to her as she's been a close friend since childhood & essentially we'll all be family when we move away!

BUT this morning I was speaking with my sister; she has been searching here & there for places to rent for herself & her friend. But this morning she told me she doesn't think it's going to work out living with her friend as she's still in party mode & my sister doesn't want that lifestyle anymore. So I asked her would she like to move in with us & she said ok! Our area preference is the same, she wants separate living quarters but with the way things are I think she might have to compromise on that. I'd have to start searching for a 3 bed place which gives even slimmer pickings & out biggest hurdle - she has 2 large dogs & most landlords & agents won't allow pets! Argh!
But I wonder might this be in reference to my original casting with Hex 6 - " escape to your town's people,
Three hundred households, No blunder" (my sister & a search for a 3 bed rather than 2 bed)
"With a change of heart, peaceful constancy is good fortune." (Changing up the whole search & essentially changing the way I've been living ie. just myself & my daughter)

In the meantime I've been offered a viewing of an apartment tomorrow. It's over-priced (they all are though) but looks nice & isn't too far from where I currently live.
I think later today I will do a casting on the outcome of taking this place or another apartment V's trying to find somewhere with my sister.

Apologies for all the posts!

A little update on my scenario:
I was talking to both a lady in the rent assistance agency & an extremely helpful man in another advice agency that was set up solely because of this housing crisis.
Again the lady told me that unfortunately she couldn't tell me how much of an increase. I told her I had a viewing for an apartment (which is today) & that it was over their limits (told her the price) but I had to look at it as there's so few popping up I just have to look at anything as an option right now. I asked her realistically what would happen if I took it. She told me that more than likely they would help initially but then maybe after 3ths I would be asked to try & find somewhere cheaper.....obviously not ideal as I don't want to keep moving around, plus I'd be signing a year lease so I'd be responsible for the remaining mths rent regardless.

The man in the advice agency was a wealth of great information & told me generally they've seen the rent assistance raise the limits up to 20% (finally a real figure!) He said once I'm in the property, I would have a better chance of staying then if I was just applying. He also told me about the option to move with my sister; he told me that there was no limits set up for family units moving in with another sharing a place to live, they only have set aside rates & rules with regards to single people or couples. But with the way things are they have to look at it. He reckoned I'd probably be set the max rate that I currently have if I was going it alone, which would put me in a much better position as my sister would be paying the remainder share herself anyway, so we could get a much better place for the price. He did stress though that in all these phone calls & emails with the rent assistance agency are not looked at when they make a decision, it's all up to the deciding officer based on a filled out form. So they will have no idea of everything that has gone on. Argh! My only hope is to write an accompanying letter in with the application forms in the hope that whoever is deciding my case reads it.

So I'm viewing a place in just over an hour, so decided to do some castings:

A. What is the outcome of taking the place in X? (apartment viewing tonight) 2.2.3.4.5.6 > 44

B. What is the outcome of taking the place in Y? (place I've emailed about in an estate I lived in over 10yrs ago) 31.6 > 33

C. What is the outcome of taking another place alone? 25.3 > 13

D. What is the outcome of waiting & taking a place with my sister? 23.3 > 52

I haven't had a proper chance to digest all of these readings but at first glance no option looks great! :/

Any ideas of these lines? Stressing out as it's so urgent....I will have to make up my mind about the apartment in 2hrs time!

Hello Newbie...

I started addressing your thread earlier...but ended up not posting.

Reading your earlier posts, what struck me most was the sheer size of the 'obstacle'...i was sorry to hear of the desperate situation you and others in your city must be in...however...in terms of life and lessons, the yi's flat advice/remark 'cannot master this argument'...seemed to speak clearly to me...

As trojina has pointed out as well...the conflict and the resulting energy expended in addressing might need to be refocussed towards the situation at 'home'. Is there a way to reframe the 'problem' as from being 'out there'...as it clearly is, and you cleanly see...but take that clean sight of the 'out there' problem, and your very tenacious and skilled attempts to solve it, to apply it with the same impersonal and detached way to 'your townspeople' and 'three hundred households' of your family home with your father, mother and sister?

There might be a longstanding unresolved situation (a life lesson, may be) at the homefront, that can only be learnt/addressed/walked through...*with* the very people who might have contributed, laid the foundation stone so to speak...

Some of the lifeskills we learn from home environment are essential for that time and place. But when those lifeskills become an automatic way of engaging with the world...it becomes a problem. I have received this particular line myself...or versions of it. I have not actually followed it myself when... the other option (three open rooms did you say in your father's house?) seem more closed to you, than the whole city and country with a drastic impossibility of available and affordable options.

May be the yi's is asking you to reconsider and see the other 'closed' option and really see, if indeed it is actually as 'closed' to you or whatever reason your mind tells you (however based on experience, repeated, I am sure)...

My feeling is that you might try giving five percent of time and energy to the parental home/family situation and address it, if only in your own mind, to gain a different perspective on it. How would you approach your dad in a way he can see your side of the story...?
How can you see the choices of your dad differently to understand how he lets the current situation go on? I think this is where you might find the key to your problem so to speak...

I wish you all the very best.

Hi Mira, thank you for your time & your sound advice.

Your words have struck me; if I put as much effort into the family home option as I have been trying to fight this impossible fight I might have some hope. Yi is so clearly telling me I need to explore this option.
My father has been weakened by a vast number of years of living in that toxic situation. I feel he has gone through periods of depression. He is ignoring what's going on with me because he knows actually saying no to his daughter & grandchild is wrong, but the fear of the wrath of my mother is greater than lending a hand & offering up the 2 free bedrooms in the house to us. I think he is totally numb to anything outside his own goings on.

I think the only thing to do here is to bite the bullet & ask my mother as she is the decision maker with what happens with that house. Probably best if I meet her in a public place so she's less likely to errupt into one of her rages & I stand a chance of her staying somewhat calm to hear me out. I guess what have a got to lose? If I get a no the situation only remains the same.

As for the readings: I'm had a viewing tonight & the place is lovely, bit of a dodgy area but I know it well & I'm not too bothered about that.
The reading I did for it beforehand was: 2.2.3.4.5.6 > 44
Hex 2 seems really hopeful but Hex 44 "do not marry the maiden" seems a stark DON'T!

With 5 changing lines am I right to ignore the lines & go with the two hexes? Or do you go with the excluded line, in this case is line 1 which speaks of something foreboding - yikes! Either speaking of the landlord herself (she's a woman) or the with the rent assistance agency only helping me for a number of mths.

So I didn't get the apartment (2.2.3.4.5.6 > 44), which is probably for the best.

In the meantime a house in my estate has become available. I have ignored it up to now as it was way over priced & seems to be of quite poor quality. It reminds me of a badly maintained student house from 20yrs ago! Yesterday it seemed to drop it's price. But is it is very run down. From the pictures the carpets & couches look dirty & ripped up, one of them looks broken, the other is covered up which is usually a sign of hiding something.

I was thinking back to my original casting (6.2.4) telling me to "return home to my towns people" & to "have a change of heart". This area had been my home for almost 9yrs, we have laid roots here. So I asked another question on this available property:

What is the outcome of talking the house in my estate? - 60.4 > 58

Limitations (60) leading to Joy (58) - forgive me if I'm wrong but this seems promising!

Line 4 - Contented limitation. Success!

Perhaps it's telling me I need to look past these cosmetic things & accept that in the current climate I will have to accept much poorer quality, even with the price still being high.
My child's happiness is much more important to me than any old couch! If we stay in the estate she'll keep all her friends & stay in her current school. It won't be such an upheaval as the only change will be the bricks around us.
I've requested a viewing so I'll see how it goes.

What does anyone think of these new Hex's/Lines? Especially in context to the original castings?

Sounds good to me. Of course you'll have to compromise (58) but nothing you can't live with (60.4).

Will I find a place to live soon? - 6.2.4 > 20
Both lines speak of avoiding conflict, and then a respectful and/or thoughtful person.
So I doubt this describes your family home (my sympathy to you that your mother is so horrible...).
Overall it sounds to me like "don't go where conflict is", and consider your options carefully (20).
20 also says that there isn't an offer yet, so at the point when you asked, the right place hadn't appeared.

Good luck with the 60.4 > 58 flat!

Thanks Diamanda, but unfortunately the place in my estate was taken off the market shortly after that. I managed to send an email before it was taken down but have heard nothing back.

In the meantime my landlord had contacted me asking was I ready to move out the weekend...as in yesterday! I told him no, explained again the current housing crisis (it's in the news everyday so I'm sure he's aware) & that I have broken my foot which is slowing me down even further. He sent a letter stating that he will extend the notice period till the end of May & no later, on condition I have the house in presentable condition, adhere to the estate agents demands, with no boxes or clutter lying around.
I am not sure if now is the time to play my legal notice card - by law he must give me 6mths notice (because I'm here so long) & in order for the notice to be valid it must be accompanied by a lawyers letter proving that he intends to sell. He sent the notice last October with no lawyer letter so it was invalid. I informed him of this & he sent on the lawyer letter but this was in March. I've since been informed that technically it's still invalid as you can't have them from 2 time periods, both the notice & the lawyer letter must come together. This would mean he'd have to resend them & my notice period (6mths) would only start from the day I receive them. This would buy me more time but there's a fairly high chance this could get nasty.

I also have my name down (for years now) on housing waiting list to rent off the council. The problem is the council haven't built social housing in something like 40+ years so are relying on the odd flat or house that may come available. Hence the housing list is over 10yrs long! I have been procrastinating in writing a letter to make an appeal to my position on this list (never really thought it would come to this) but even if they approve my appeal it only pushes me a bit further up the list.

Another option (which I have been so stubbornly knocking back for various reasons) is to go live with my on/off boyfriend in Spain. He has offered again for us to come over to stay with him, even if it's just to hide out & figure out what I want/need to do from over there. I start a course in September & my daughter starts back in school at the same time so I've been rigidly sticking to that time frame of starting in September & being ready to move to Europe (not Spain though) nxt summer by the time my daughter finishes up her school year & me with my course & all the experience I had planned on gaining between now & then.

So with all this in mind I have asked a few questions:

A) Will a place present itself before the deadline date? 2.5.6 > 20

B) Is there any hope with the housing list? 20 UC

C) What is the outcome of pushing the validity of the notice? 27.2.3 > 26

D) What is the outcome of going to Spain short-term? 18.2 > 52

Wow all those 20's AGAIN!

Am I right in thinking Spain (18.2 > 52) is potentially the best option here?
With Hex 18 saying:
"Work on what has been spoiled, Has supreme success.
It furthers one to cross the great water;
Before the starting point, three days. After the starting point, three days"

Line 2: Setting right what has been spoilt by the mother - maybe my motherland which is most certainly corrupted? Or maybe it talks of my own mother? Changing to 52 Stillness; maybe it's time to give in & stop this fruitless search for now, go chill in Spain for the summer & make a plan from there.
I'm also thinking this could actually be about the relationship with my boyfriend, even though I asked in the context of having to move.

As for pushing the legal notice with the landlord (27.2.3 > 26) - this doesn't look good!
Line 2 - Deviating from the path to seek nourishment from the hill. Continuing to do this brings misfortune.
Line 3 - Turning away from nourishment. Perseverance brings misfortune. Do not act thus for ten years. Nothing serves to further.
Yikes!!! Am I right in saying that it's a stern warning not to proceed with enforcing the notice?

Any input with these readings is much appreciated!

Hi all; an update to the situation:

I still haven't found a place yet, I have done various castings about different places that I didn't get; I'll post them here at a later date as they might help someone else with their interpretations in the future.

I've had my emails & messages ignored, viewings full after less than an hour of advertising, landlords not showing up for viewings, viewing with vast numbers of other people & all offers rejected...... BUT today I finally had had a glimmer of hope through all this!

As my move out date from my current place is in 3 weeks time I am in severe risk of homelessness so was referred onto a homeless association; who have said they will help me financially so I can increase my rental budget, which further increases my options. I have a few viewings for different places over the coming days but unfortunately only 1 is a scheduled appointment, the rest are open viewings which means potentially hundreds of people all showing up at the same time, all asking to take it. I haven't had any luck so far with the open viewings. I've even been so bold to put forward an offer on a place before the viewing took place, asking to take it without the need to see it (I knew the area, it looked ok from the photos) as I'm that desperate to secure a place to live, but I never heard back from them.

I found a house today & I think I've fallen for it a bit. It's quirky, has a beautiful big garden (outside space is a rarity) & it's location is perfect as it's very close to where I live now. In fact only the local park divides us; where I currently live is one side of the park & this house on the other. I replied to the ad via the property site, I also called the estate agent about it but was told they were only taking submissions via the property sites so I cheekily sent another reply from another email address....I REALLY want to get this house!

So I asked:

Will I get offered the viewing for this house in X? 14.2.4 > 22

What is the outcome of calling & making an offer tomorrow? (i.e. offering to take it without viewing) 23UC

Well Hex 23 is most certainly a warning not to go ahead! Being so forward probably isn't going to go down well.

But both 14 & 22 seem auspicious!
Line 2 "A big wagon for loading. One may undertake something. No blame." Perhaps finally my big move to a new home!
Line 4 "He makes a difference Between himself and his neighbour. No blame." I wonder does this speak of a problem with the neighbours? From looking at the pictures in the ad online the house has both neighbouring houses to the left & right, which the line mentions.

Anyone have any experiences with 14 > 22? It seems positive but I'm not sure if I'm just reading what I want to!

Suggestion -
Try asking questions that imply a positive outcome such as,
"Why is it so easy for me to find housing?"
"Why is this landlord so eager to rent to me?"
"Why does money for rent come to me so abundantly?"

Thanks Rosada! I'll think of a question like that.

I'm trying not to get bogged down in what about x, what about y type questions but it's so hard as I've so little time left.
I will be very, very lucky if I get offered more than one place to choose from.

So after applying every way possible for viewings on the above (14>22) place & getting no response I decided to look up who the letting agent was. Remembering that a girl I know works for an estate agent (who had previously offered to ask their lettings department for me) I compared the two agents; & low & behold she works for the parent company in another office!
Maybe this is me thinking outside the box & coming at it from a different angle as some of my original castings had suggested!

So I shot her off a message first thing Monday morning & she got onto the agent in charge of the place straight away! But she said he was quite rude to her on the phone, saying he already had my details & he would contact me when it was viewing. She sent him a follow up email, explaining my situation that my house is being sold, I had to move in 2wks & she could vouch for me as a good tenant. We both laughed & hoped the guy was just suffering from Monday morning blues & in need of a coffee :)

Then yesterday another place was advertised, from the same lettings agents; this time with an agent I recognised! I had rented a flat off him many, many years ago! I don't know if this coincidence bears any relevance at all, as he wouldn't remember me but it's better than nothing! I applied through the proper channels & messaged my friend, who in turn emailed him about a viewing.

In the meantime the other guy (the 14>22 place) - let's call this place A - got back to her with an open viewing for tomorrow! Brilliant I thought!!
BUT then the other agent got back & said his place was also viewing tomorrow - AT THE SAME TIME!!!!

These are both open viewings; so with lots of people all queuing up early. I am going to try go to both but it means I will be late for one which is never a good thing. My friend has emailed the second agent (let's call it place B) asking how long he'll stay at the property tomorrow, stating that I also have a viewing at the other place at the same time but I'll be trying to make both. We're waiting on a response, probably have to wait till tomorrow to hear back.

Honestly I'd take either place at this stage but would rather arrive early/first at the one I have the better chance of getting. But of course there's no way of knowing which one that is.
So I asked:

What is the outcome of making an offer on A? 46.1.6 > 26

What is the outcome of making an offer on B? 3UC

I have gotten Hex 3UC before on a situation that went round in circles & ended badly

Hex 46 Advancing - line 1 "Pushing upward that meets with confidence brings good fortune"
But does line 6 speak of difficulties or perhaps my offer falling into darkness? "Pushing upward in darkness. It furthers one to be unremittingly persevering"
And the relating Hex 26 Major Restraint/ Taming of the Great Power - does this suggest something is holding it back? Perhaps the reason it's taken the agent so long to view the property in the first place?

If anyone has any thoughts on these Hex's it would be very much appreciated :)

This options sounds a bit better than B. Actually it advises to not be slow at all (46 - slow progress - concludes from a to z in the blink of an eye). 26 advises to not eat at home, so I'd say don't even have breakfast at home, set off for this one as quickly/early as you can. Although because of 26 (not eating at home) I'm wondering if this option won't work out in the end (hopefully I'm wrong).

What is the outcome of making an offer on B? 3 unchanging
Same for me, every time I get 3 unchanging the situation never amounts to anything. So I can't see this is as promising. Well in any case, you're asking which one to view first, and for sure I'd say view A first.

Thank Diamanda! That's exactly what I was thinking with A; the lines seem auspicious, especially with the previous (14>22) reading I got before than Bam 26! The not eating at home bit has me rattled

Oddly it's been A that has been a bit of a chore to get a reply from. It's been advertised for 10 days & only viewing now, which is highly unusual in this current market. The norm is they view & day or two after they are first advertised & taken on the spot! So odd that I got 3UC for the other place.

I'm hoping maybe the difficulties at the beginning with B might be the the logistical difficulty of trying to be at two places at once! Hex 3UC has never led to anything for me personally in the past but I've seen others on here receive it to mean sprouting or a new beginning, so I'll try to remain positive & hopeful. The enlisting helpers bit is for sure my friend who works for the company!

Speaking of which; the agent for B has just got back to her to say they normally hang around at viewings for around 20mins so he advised me to go early to A & then come on down as quick as I can to him at B. Logistically it makes sense as both viewings are during rush hour & B is going in the direction of the city centre so I shouldn't be going against heavy rush hour traffic.

Hopefully I make both viewings....I'm planning on making an offer on both anyway, with the hope I get offered at least one!
Fingers, toes & all limbs crossed!!
