Fan Yao & Natural Supplement

Last week I started a nutritional supplement to increase my energy levels. It's fantastic, I feel much brighter but at times a bit out of whack, like too much coffee (though this doesn't have any caffeine derivatives in it). When I did some research recommendations for dosage were all over the place, as is often the case with natural remedies.

I asked the Yi, Am I on the right dose and received 27.2>41. I then asked if I should increase the dose and received 41.2>27. It's rare for me to get a Fan Yao in the same line of questioning, so rather exciting. The interpretation I've come up with is that to be nourished I need to let go of something (27.2>41), perhaps a contraindicated supplement or negative thought patterns that contribute to feeling jumpy & irritable; but that ultimately I should augment the supplement (41.2>27)which is how the dosing of this supplement typically works over 5-6 weeks.

Can anyone advise on the significance of the Fan Yao, and alternative interpretations?

By that fan yao it might have been saying "pay attention to the combination of 27 and 41 here". I mean, The I Ching couldn't be any more literal and blatant here, with the hexagrams of 27: The Mouth, and 41: Decrease or Diminishing. . Lower your intake of this supplement. It doesn't necessarily have to be more complex than that...

Normally the fan yaos irrelevant in divination, and only useful when it gives you clues to the meaning in the line you actually draw. But this is a special case.

From the first reading I'd say No, not the right dose, and maybe not the right supplement.

The second one could be advising you instead to find out where you're leaking energy or health and fix that instead.

Hmmm, I read LiSe's interpretation of 41.2 which finishes, 'Not diminishing, increasing it,' which I took to mean to increase the dose. I thought 27.5's 'allowing the excessive to exist,' could refer to the excess energy I've been feeling as my body adjusts to ramped up nutrients.

Thank you for your input and insight on how the fan yao is used.

When health questions are involved, it's particularly useful to people here to remember to post how things turned out.

Well, when I did the reading a couple of days ago my intuition guided me to increase the dose, which I did. I immediately felt calmer & more relaxed.

Bradford, regarding your question where is my energy leaking, I happen to be following an eating plan for healing leaky gut (not an official diagnosis but my body doesn't absorb nutrients as it should). The advice could be encouraging that I continue this way of eating.

41 is about optimizing limited resources.

The reason I suggested what I did was looking at the first two lines of the text as well as the third. Going too far is inconsistent with the meaning of Decrease.
To hold the line against decrease is a win. This can be a matter of using resources more efficiently or effectively. I guess that could refer to increasing the effectiveness of digestion. But it would not generally refer to increasing inputs to the system, at least not generously.

I translate this line as:

Worthwhile to be steadfast
To go boldly is ill-omened
Avoiding decrease increases one.
