Some weeks ago I opened a new site about the spherical arrangement of the hexagrams (the Yi-globe), and soon after Luis made a reference to it in the 'I Ching News'. After having found the Clarity's site and having acquainted myself with the activity of this community, I joined as a friend with pleasure. Thus I have become a member of the 'I Ching Community'. :bows:

The joining to the ICC recalled to my mind a divination that I made ten years ago. At that time the Yi-globe had been reconstructed already but it was an empty form, devoid of content. I did not know, how and where I should go on, would be any sense in the further work. Then I turned to the I Ching for advice.

The question was: Are my insights correct regarding the system of the hexagrams? Can spiritual values be derived from my efforts of dealing with this subject further on?
The answer obtained was the Creative (hexagram 1), with the 9 in the 2nd place. Thus, the expected future was Fellowship with Men (hexagram 13).

The answer was not simply surprising but shocking for me. I felt as if a spirit or the Book itself had appeared, as if a supreme power had touched me then. I do not want to interpret the first part of this oracle here. In short, I took it highly favorable and promising for the future. I contemplated on the subject, got new ideas, wrote a book (in Hungarian, in 2005), and made a website (in English, 2009).

The most curious thing is, however, the predicted future, hexagram 13: Fellowship with Men. Its judgment: 'Fellowship with men in the open. Success. It furthers one to cross the great water.' Is it possible, that the oracle will be fulfilled here and now, in the I Ching Community? Apparently, it has to be the best place to find the fellowship with other persons.

And what may be the explanation for 'in the open' (in other translations: in the wilds, in the country, etc.)? Would be the newest variant 'on the internet'? What is your opinion?

Please, further my 'crossing the great water'
Joe

Answer removed due to unnecessary sarcasm by our resident wit or twit is perhaps more apt!

Hi Joe, and welcome.

Your site is very interesting, indeed. Right or wrong (and IMO, regarding structures and meaning derived from the Yijing there's no right or wrong) creativity is great to witness.

Hilary, please move this thread out of the fortune telling section and into the Exploring Divination.

Hi Joe and Welcome to the Community,

I appreciate that sense of meeting the Yi Oracle Spirit when you cast an initial Oracle. That was my personal experience when as a college student a friend in computer science showed me how to use the Wilhelm.

As a shared reading, your Oracle of hex 1.2 >>13, which I would call Sunshine >>Love Song with the second line place of the skeleton or structure being the focus, expressing and exhausting itself and thus evolving toward hex 13 where the 5 Yang line places indicate process with the Open Yin place indicate openness in terms of structure.

You found great power in the Wilhelm, and from your comments it assisted you to express your views to the world. It is a great Yi Oracle and its results speak for themselves.

My personal views of your work appear in my post about the Yi-globe under Sparhawk's thread in I Ching news, other comments are there too.

My views on the King Wen Sequence come from the power and sophistication when the hexagrams are laid out in order in sets of 10 viewed in terms of the hexagrams ending in 1 as Monads, those ending in 2 and 3 as Dyads, etc. This is a view based upon ancient perspectives. The Yi globe is based upon modern geography and binary number patterns. Different strokes for different folks.

My apologies I am still having difficulty expressing my insights so they are self-evident to others.

Again, welcome to the community.

The word jiao also carries the implication of "frontier," the leading edge of the civilized,
as well as the border back into backwardness.

I missed the jab. Don't let it get to you. Fwiw, I thought your response was concise when I read it earlier.

I thought so too, an intelligent response. re post it maybe?

I would like to but I am getting so fed up with insensitive morons like sparhawk, the resident jerk who likes to make jokes at other peoples expense. He is about as funny as a dried turd.

Hey Joe,

Let me offer a less human interpretation of 13, or perhaps I should say a more primal interpretation. What does the flower have in common with the root? And further, what does the root have in common with the soil, and soil with water? and water with heaven? and so on. This is a creative thing!

I once asked Yi, why do you bother doing this? 13

Ah, so much in character; the epitome of niceness and politeness; the one that believes that frankness and directness overrules and supersedes decent communication with fellow forum members; the one that believes is constantly attacked, even at the slightest disagreement with her opinions...

I wonder two things: 1) What did I say TO YOU that prompted that verbal case of the runnies and 2) When have I, ever, insulted you as you have above? I mean, those are rhetorical questions, really, as nothing that comes out of your fingers surprises me.

I'm starting to wonder also, based on your demeanor and choice of words, if your travels in the Orient were as part of a very specific section of the entertainment industry. Alas, even there, one is hard pressed to find such a nasty character as you are, no matter how bad life have kicked them to the ground.

I am always nice and polite to everyone except to people like you who seem to go out of their way to rock my boat, which you did from the very beginning. You have always acted rude and arrogant towards me, so now I am giving some of that s*** that you gave me, back to you, so why the surprise?

Certain people like you and a few others on this forum bring out the very worst in me. So you leave me alone and I will never say anything to you, mess with me and I will always retaliate.

Not that I give the stinkiest rat's ass about your "retaliations," with are always as hollow as the words of drunkard, but, again, what did I say to you that prompted this nice example of your real demeanor and estate of mind?

Look back at your stupid little remark that you made on your post to Joe, and yes you have insulted me on numerous occasions, one that immediately springs to mind is your attempt to be funny in my "Deleted posts" thread. You are rude and completely insensitive and your "jokes", if you can really call them that, are plainly just not funny at all.

And again, I see your childish wit rises up once again, you are the whore sparhawk!

And I don't give a rat's ass about you either, as your words and "jokes" are just pathetic attempts at buffoonery.

I don't want you to communicate with me at all, so just get the hint that I don't like you, so never reply to my posts ever again and then all will be fine.

You are telling me you took exception about suggesting to Hilary to move this thread where it belongs and not to leave it in the "Fortune Telling" section? And how is that related to your person? Rhetorical, again, I know... :D

And again, I see your childish wit rises up once again, you are the whore sparhawk!

Oh, but that's hardly news...

Alas, unlike you and your dreaming of being a sybil, I've never claimed to be anything but a buffoon. Heck, if I do a search I know I'll find one or two posts where I actually claim to be one... :D

Oh, but that's hardly news...

I take exception to most things that you say but I curb my tongue on most occasions but you are another who likes the sport of fox hunting, so this time I can no longer stop myself from responding to your pokes and slights.

Most of what I am writing is not news to the people that have had to put up with your asinine humor all these years.

You must have a comprehension problem as I don't remember addressing you at all in this thread until you resorted to insult me. And don't tempt me because we, the both of us in this verbal ping-pong, could become the entertainment of Clarity for weeks to come or until Hilary, in her wisdom, stop us. Once on the horse I'm hard to unseat and I'd be laughing at you for days, which I guess is what combs your hair the wrong way. I just have to justify to myself how worthy of my time you are. More than likely, not much at all... :D

Yes, I still have my dreams but what can an ass dream about?

I can think of dreams for ass, the animal, and for the other meaning. Which I'm sure that in your case, up until this morning and your verbal evacuation, hasn't seen much traffic lately.

You have addressed me in other threads if your brain is functioning and you were extremely rude in those.
I am quite prepared to play ping pong for years if need be, and as for being on a horse, I am more used to sitting on elephants from where I am impossible to budge.
I know that you think that you are so special that you laugh at everyone anyway, so why should your juvenile sense of humor bother me?

So, let's see, you picked this one thread, where I didn't addressed you, to retaliate for my alleged transgressions before? Which, by the way, were always observations about your uncivilized demeanor.

I am quite prepared to play ping pong for years if need be, and as for being on a horse, I am more used to sitting on elephants from where I am impossible to budge.

As big and strong they are, I pity the poor brutes... :D

Is that what they call "oxymoronic"? I mean, there's a contradiction somewhere in there.

Yes, I'm on a diet.

I'm sure you are. Make sure to include plenty of fiber in it or these things tend to happen. We don't want you pop an artery somewhere at the exertion.

Not really, it is your rude, overbearing, arrogant and insulting manner that I find offensive, you really believe that you are superior to all us peasants. Well, up to you but like I said before it would make my day if you kept your nose stuck up your own ass and not interfere in other folks business, especially mine.

Have to stop for now but don't worry I will be back for more lighthearted banter with our resident clown, later on.

Have to go and read some palms. See you later.

Bye!

Nah, that's you projecting and feeling inferior, somehow. I know better as to feel superior than anybody. :D
