I was working temporarily earlier this year and now I'm looking for
a job again so I asked Yi a specific question about how I can get an indoor
type of job that isn't far away that pays a decent wage and the answer
I got was
Hexagram 30.2.4.6 > Hexagram 11

Hexagram 30 seems like it's saying depend on the wisdom in your
own inner voice (light) to heed to its instruction instead of the ego's.

Changing line 2: I'm sort of shaky about.
I read up on it and it said being moderate in thought and action?

Changing line 4: Is about losing brilliance quickly? This one I'm also
shaky as how to look at this.

Changing line 6: This one I understood more firmly, as I took as to go to
the root of the cause (perhaps an inner cause) that is keeping me from finding
work.

I know that lines 2, 4, 6 have to be combined holistically to be understood, so
if anyone has any experience with this hexagram and it's line combinations, your insight would
be appreciated.

If I can understand Hexagram 30.2.4.6
I can get to Hexgram 11 (Prospering)

I'm relatively new to interpreting i-ching readings, but I will try and take a shot. So from Hexagram 30, line 2 calls for moderation in your actions, and keeping your enthusiasm curbed/balanced - it means take this step by step and don't try to do everything at once. Line 4 says you shouldn't worry about the outcome - instead keep a steady approach to your methods, and learn from each step. Line 6 states you must remove any negative attitudes, thoughts, and impatience in order to make progress. Hexagram 11 unchanging implies peace of mind.

I know its general but I think the hexagram readings here are pretty much advocating modesty in your actions/expectations and strong positive attitude.

That intuitively sounds on point to me. What's your take on the "clinging " imagery?
And do you agree that the "docile cow" is a metaphor for getting out of one's way?

Thanks again. :bows:

I am not entirely sure, but if I were to assume I think the I-Ching is implying you should "cling" to higher principles of patience, positive attitude, open-mind, and humility.

I don't see how "docile cow" is a metaphor for getting of one's way. I think it's saying that you should be submissive and accepting of everything around you, so you can learn in strides and make success. Just my 2 cents.
