Hello folks

Can anyone tell me how to bring up a list of my previous posts?

If I find one post I can click on my name and brig a list up.

Is there somewhere which enable me to bring a list up without finding a previous post please?

Thanks

Kevin

After you log in,
click your name,
M.E., do you mean to do this in the menu, or where?

In the menu, in the Membership column, click on your name next to your avatar? That works, but is it the place you meant?

I meant, you can click your name anywhere that it appears as a hyperlink, or anywhere your avatar appears. (including under: community, membership...)

Hi Moss Elk

Thanks for coming back.

Your link works.

When I log in my name doesn't appear anywhere on the screen.

On a lot of forums going to ones account usually gives a link to activity. That's not available here.

The screenshot you gave me doesn't appear even if I click on my name, or avatar. I've tried this on Chrome and Firefox.

Yes, clicking on my name or avatar does work, but I can only find that by finding an old post.

Anyway - The link works. Thanks

Cheers

Kevin

When you're on a forum page (it's different if you're on a site page that's not the forum), look in the menu, in the Membership column.

Up at the very top of the page, in the header/banner with the stunning picture of the sky, there's a menu. Hover with your mouse over the word "Community." A big huge box will appear. You'll see a Membership column on the far right of that. A lot of what you're looking for is there, I think.

I don't know how to make a screen clip of something that's activated by hovering, but the top three things under Membership are:
  1. Your avatar with your name next to it. If you click on that, it's as Moss Elk said: you'll get a pop-up box which includes your avatar and name again, as a link. Click on your name there, and it'll take you to your profile page. About halfway down your profile page, there's a tab called "Postings" - click there to see all your posts.
  2. The little envelope icon is your private messages. If you have any new messages, there'll be a tiny red box there telling you the number of unread messages. Click on it to see a pop-up list. At the bottom of the pop-up list is a link to "Show all..." which'll take you to your inbox.
  3. The little bell is alerts. It works the same as the envelope - click on it.
All of this might change a bit - Hilary has talked about moving some of it out of the menu.

Hi Liselle
Thanks for coming back.
I clicked on the big huge box which appeared out of the sky ( ;) Chuckles)

Yes, I see what you mean. It works.

Though of note I don't get anything like the screen take Moss Elk posted.

It works though - thanks for helping.

I'm all set.

Be well.

Also, if you are logged in, if you click on your name in any of your posts - like this one for example - you can either click your name again, or just click on the number show below 'messages' text and it will bring up your list of posts - in your case, all 607 of them, including the three from this thread!

If you're looking for another person's posts, you can do the same thing, or if you only have their user name, you can enter it in the 'Posted by' box in the forum search. Only thing is I think you have to enter the name correctly and will all the capitals, dashes, etc. I think it only works for current members however. For 'past' people you can try entering their names in the Keyword search.

Best, d.

I think if people have deleted their account when they leave their posts are unsearchable even by themselves. This makes deleting one's account a bit of a pointless act.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing as what you are talking about, but I just found posts from a former member by using the forum search and putting their name in as a 'Keyword'. I don't know if they actually 'deleted' their account, but I know they are no longer a member, and are no longer active (and haven't posted anything in a few years.)

The only way someone is not still a member is if they delete their account. If they don't delete their account but just don't come here for years then they are still a member. Ask H to be sure but that's what I understood.

So if you go away for 6 years but haven't deleted your account you can still search for all your old posts and so can other people but if you go to the trouble of actually deleting your account then you can't search for your posts. If keyword works with a name then that's good.
