Hi All!

I don't remember exactly if this topic was also raised not very long time ago... It's interesting for me - what sign do you consider as 'you ask a wrong question!' from I Ching? Yes, I know that 'classical' foolproof is Hex. 4, and also, maybe, 49/5 (as I recently read on Steve Marshall's site). But I think everybody uses his/her own 'signs'. Are they constant, or they depend on a particular situation/question?

Best regards.

Dear Peter,
Since your question appears to have been overlooked by other correspondents, perhaps I can give you my answer. Hexagram 23, unchanging, I sometimes take to mean "if you go on thinking like this, you and I / you and the other person in the question / you yourself will 'split apart'". I've also had unchanging hexagram 33 where I've taken it to mean "I am withdrawing from this conversation", or " Please withdraw from this way of thinking". Other times I've had hexagram 47, indicating that my thinking on the subject is wearing me out and leading me astray.
