formatting not working again?

This morning I tried to add italics to a post. And however I tried - by putting in the italics in brackets code, or by selecting text and pushing the italics icon (and I tried both here) - and even though they show up in the window where I'm creating and editing my post, neither of these seemed to show up in the actual post, even though I was able to do this as of a few days ago. Not a big deal of course - and not something to pull Hilary from her vacation - but something to look at at some point.

For what it's worth, David's italics are showing up to me. Screen clip:

I find if you put someones's words or quotes in italics or bold then your own following words are also in bold or italic and it's not for want of switching off the italics button. You get there eventually but for some reason it's hard to make the button understand it's 'off' but I have had this issue other places than this forum

David, I wouldn't be surprised if you have the old stylesheet cached. Try clearing everything, see if that helps.
