Hello again everyone. A recent relationship has turned more into a friendship (on line - please see my previous posts) and I asked the I Ching If I should continue this.

I asked, " Should I continue my friendship with X "?

I received the following readings: 53.2.3 > 48.

I would like to invite comments as to what the I Ching is saying to me. All are invited! And any comments would be much appreciated.

Just some thoughts...

The relationship has incurred in a gradual and (generally) positive transformation (line 2 is about satisfaction, line 3 speaks about some troubles) that is ended (line 6 changing, represent the exit of a circumstance; here a crowning achievement:it's time to take joy from the results of the "gradual progression" ).

So, I believe this friendship, will always be a resource to you (48). Like a well. It will be up to you how to maintain it.

What was the outcome of the story? The result 53.2.3.6>48 is really interesting and also a reading with the quite mysterious line 6 of hexagram 53 was recently discussed here controversially. You would help us to improve our interpretation skills if you gave an update.

The outcome of the story was that I decided the friendship was not worth it, as the person in question wasn't sincere. She kept saying let's stay as friends but didn't really mean it. I could tell by her words and actions that I wasn't one of the fishes she fancied and so let the friendship fizzle out but on the best of terms.

The phrase 'no hard feelings' come to mind.
