It's amazing that you asked about marriage and from the interpretation that I read from, Hexagram 37 can mean a family. To me, it speaks of being the best you can possibly be, but at the same time administering appropriate boundaries as are needed for the regulation of a household. Loving, but firm. Please don't hold me to this but, I see that he seems to be an appropriate head figure for your household, and that you can support him in the wife role properly. .Long distance situation here, he on one coast me on the other....I saw him a week ago when I traveled there. It was a very sweet, generous but decidedly unromantic from his part...We had dated in the past last year, but according to him, the distance and his emotional state at the time didn't allow him to really show up for me the way he knows I deserve....This was in May when he said this...So, cut to now having come home from seeing him back east and I sent a thank you email to him for all the generosity he gave to me..( fabulous dinner, a broadway play, showing up at an event my sister planned) He responded with "it was good to see you as well on this coast..ect..Sweet but not romantic or pursuant of me..

I guess it wasn't confusion coming between you, but distance. Hexagram 62? unfortunately, in 62 I hear ( in response to your ?, "should I respond?" - no. Please take everything I say with a grain of sugar, because only you know the details of your situation. It seems to me that you may have to be extremely patient, and allow him to intiate further contact( even though I know how hard that can be)- like you may have to sacrifice the immediate pleasure of contact with him right now, for the benefit of your relationship in the future. I hope somebody who may understand this image more than me, will chime in with their perspective. But regardless, it's cool to let a guy come to you, that way he doesn't feel pressured. I'm happy you enjoyed your trip & the time you two spent together. The thing that makes me hold onto the answers from the previous hexagrams, is that he allowed you to visit him, and showed you an amazing time. I havent contacted him back and I am ok with just letting it go and seeing if he contacts me again..

We started as dating with serious romantic intentions but he pulled back when he realized how much he would really have to show up to make it work...the long distance and his emotional state he said made it to difficult to really show up for me. He would do anything for me if I asked (as a friend)...And he has kept his word. I am just disappointed that he is no longer pursuing me in that serious romantic way as he was before..

Nothing is perfect. Even God created Satan ( an enemy, or opposing force- whether God knew he would be so (( as an experiment)) or he didn't anticipate his rebellion). This is not necessarily THE outcome, however I do not want you to spend precious time pining. Sometimes the outcome does not present itself immediately(sp?). On the question of divine intention & marriage, I think that if you ask directly for a sign in regard to your intention to marry a particular individual , you will be told unmistakably.
This kind of guidance is available because marriage reflects & resonates with the relationship between God & man & should not be lightly begun or ended.

I think that spiritual forces conspire to bring us together with a choice of soul mates usu. from among close contemporaries.

New info! Update! Help!!!

Wow, some changes..he is not engaged! He misses me, but says he has no time nor true faith for relationships right now but wants me to contact him when I get into town...Which I will be on March 3rd ( hes east coast, I am west coast looking to relocate back east) I will be in town for a month.
OK threw some reading to get an idea on what is/ and could go on here for us.. We both miss each other..And he truly thinks I am a "good woman"...

After our last email exchange;
I asked what can I expect from him in the near future after sending him our last email exchange?
