Future of AI on human race: Hexagram 41.2.5>42

Hi. I asked the Iching "What does artificial intelligence mean for the human race?" The answer I got was 41.2.5 changing to 42. I would love anyone's input on this. I myself am frightened at what AI may become and how it could spell the end of our race. Interestingly on taoscopy.com this is what it says:

Hex 41 is about decreasing where it is necessary to create a balance. Line 5 says it is a good fortune. I think A.I helps in tasks that we are involved in but not all.

A lot of the recent headlines around AI are about what happens if AI gets clever and takes our jobs and salaries away from us. So seeing 41>42 as a reply to your AI question, resonates for me personally because when I last received 41>42 I'd just... lost my job. The pain of decreased income, loss of identity, and loss of confidence. I became grateful for 41>42 because it helped me orient and step my way through that change day by day and month by month - letting go, becoming less, hunkering down, lightening the baggage, preparing for when opportunity might come again.

Just recently I was involved in a new book about AI that asks 20 of the world's top AI experts the same question you asked, dolphins: what will AI mean for humanity? The expert answers to your question vary widely, but there was a wide recognition from many of those experts that AI can have positive or a negative impact on human life and jobs, depending on how well everyone prepares for it starting now. For sure, there are some bigger headline questions about AI taking away human identity, beating humans at chess, and the new risk of autonomous weapons; and for sure, there are some other experts who feel that the recent AI headlines are mostly just hype: that AI is still actually fairly dumb and won't mean anything to humans for a long time to come. But one thing that many AI experts certainly seem to acknowledge is that AI will - in the not too distant future - create a significant change to jobs and employment. A lot of folks might lose their jobs when AI automates all or part of their work.

I shared how 41>42 resonates for me. I do think AI will bring some decrease in the sense of job losses, and maybe some tough times. I think AI will at other times augment what we do as humans in our work, help us be better at what we do, as you suggest pooja123. McKinsey Institute recently estimated that something like 30% of the sub-tasks we do in our jobs today could be automated or augmented by AI in about 60% of currently salaried jobs - so there's still plenty of room for humans to work together with AI. But if you combine that 30% in each job together, then job losses will result, and I think maybe humans should prepare for times of decrease in that sense - at least in some parts of the world, and in certain job sectors.

A world with AI in the work place can also create increase: new jobs will be created - new jobs are always being created, and AI will accelerate that - who maintains the AI systems for example? New opportunities for humans can open up if humans no longer do the same jobs in the future. Less repetitive, robotic jobs for humans, could lead to better different types of jobs for us. Increased efficiency, increased GDP, increased free time, increased mental freedom, less work stress. What new visions, tasks, and missions can humanity achieve and strive towards by working with AI in the future

41 - Reduction, Decrease.
41.2 "To undertake something brings misfortune. Without decreasing oneself, one is able to bring increase to others." I take this to mean no one has to do the menial work anymore, undertakings which are not fun and make one person another's servant or underclass. People will have the benefit of being served without others being diminished to benefit you.
41.5 "Someone does indeed increase him. Ten pairs of tortoises cannot oppose it. Supreme good fortune." This really is the will of heaven and will benefit all of humanity in every way.
