hi all, I have met someone special and it appears to be going well, I have consulted the I ching and asked if he will be a suitable partner for me and I have received 45 with lines 8,8,8,7,7,8

when you throw the coins if you get 6's or 9's they are moving lines. You need to read Hilary's introduction which is downloadable and free to members and you need to read all the other great bits and pieces on this site. I ching is not "fortune telling" you need to actively participate with it, learn, reflect and learn some more. If you want your fortune told go to a funfair!!

You also need to really, really read what Hilary writes about questions and how important it is to ask them clearly if you want a clear answer. What, for instance is "suitable"? What do YOU mean by that? Although I am probably being a bit pedantic about that!! But I hope you get what I'm trying to say - get involved with your own divination. It's a good process.

I think from what you have written that you received 45 with no changing lines which is fairly positive. Lise says "you attract what resonates with your own nature". Have a look at her site too (if you are serious about learning something of the ching and after 20 posts I think this is what you should be doing not just throwing the coins and asking others). Anyway, it looks suitable but maybe others have more to say.

I read about your hex, don't know if I get it right, it doesn't look bad anyway.
So if you just met the guy, maybe this a new beginning in terms of a new relationship.

If you google "i ching Wilhelm" you will also find online copies of Wilhelms translation - and then Hilary has a course also which will give you real support in your discoveries..

I have read and studied the I ching I just cannot grasp the changing lines side it may be my dyslexia as I have trouble with other things that seem simple to others such as remembering my left and right :-$ I did feel this was a positive reading from the I ching I have looked at the translation too with the info I downloaded from here. I was just hoping to hear others translation from this to see if i am grasping the different meanings. I have been using the I ching for a while now and I do consider my questions thoroughly when consulting. With reference to this guy I feel he will be good for me I was just looking to clarify this. I have two children whom I have to take into consideration too when getting involved with someone. I have asked on this board before and I have received simple replies. Thanks again

yes you are right. You read the judgement and image and any moving lines (6's or 9's) of the first hex and then just the judgment and image of the second if there is one. Of course that doesn't apply to the one you have just done (45) because there were no moving lines.

For your recent 45 you just read the judgement and image.

Hex 45 is about working together as a couple, so if you can both cooperate with each other, then things between you will be fine. But if there are ever any problems, immediately brings them out into the open so that they can be sorted out, then life will go on nicely for the both of you.
