I was initially planning to go abroad during summer for a open-air music festival that is strongly connected with my personal music past, however I don't participate in that scene any longer due to well, life (growing up and stuff like that) (albeit I still listen to the music because its close to my heart). The music itself changed into more commercial genre, which is very bad but there are still several artists making good tunes. This festival is organised from a very long time, been there twice in the past. I was planning to maybe visit it next year- however in 2019 there will be its 20th Anniversary so its a good occasion - but more people will attend [crowdy].However, it will cost a good bunch of my savings for sure as you need a tent, money for 7 days etc.. plane tickets and so on.I asked I-Ching about both years and got answers as below:2018. 33 = > 45 Changing lines: 3 and 6 2019. 30 = > 18 Changing lines: 1, 2 and 4Can someone explain to me would it be fortunate for me to go in any of those years, or maybe I should abandon the whole idea? I'd be grateful for any comments from more experienced Oracle readers.

Yes it is for paid content, they are links to Wikiwing our huge collaborative collection of ideas and experiences for all the hexagrams and lines. It costs just the minimum of £1 per month. That is you can pay just £1 a month for it but more if you want. You can add to it at any time which helps other members and also of course it helps towards the running costs of this site. You get wikiwing on it's own for £1 a month or it is included anyway when you join Change Circle.

However the reason Rosada linked was not (only) to encourage you to join but because it helps her when it makes a link straight to wikiwing if you write it in that way (she suggests) because she can head straight there without having to look things up

But I think the reason you had no responses is people need to see the answers like this

33.3.6>45
30.1.2.4>18

Whether you choose to use Rosada's suggestion or not the cast does need to be written that way for maximum responses. It may sound like a small thing, after all you did write the change lines in, but it's far more time consuming for those responding to figure out what readings you got by the way you wrote the casts, see below in the quote, will highlight problem bit. In fact I still had to get pen and paper to do it. If it's more trouble people will skip the thread.

Now to the questions

So that is

Going in 2018 ? 33.3.6>45
Going in 2019 ? 30.1.2.4>18

Well it depends what you mean by 'fortunate' ? A festival will be like a festival. Maybe there won't be any huge difference in your experience. If you want to go I certainly don't think you should abandon the whole idea because of any Yi cast.

To be quite honest I don't see anything here, I can't get a handle on it. I don't think you should make your choice via these casts I think you should think solely about how much you want to go and how much resources you have. But let me try anyway ............

33.3.6>45 looks like a picture of gathering oneself, and indeed being at a gathering and I wonder if the 33 signifies that for you going is a kind of retreat ? If it is then 2018 looks good. However it may also be saying to look at your resources (45) and maybe withdraw from expenditure.

I'm not so keen on the 30.1.2.4>18. I get the impression things are more out of your hands with this one, less control over what happens.

If these were my readings I would favour 2018 as long as I was sure I had good back up in terms of money and so on. 2019 looks like you'd be in a less organised place/frame of mind/situation or perhaps the experience itself would be more chaotic, more prone to things going wrong. Not necessarily big things going wrong but you know just muddles and things like that when there is too much going on at once.

However I really don't see that you can make a choice solely by these casts.

Dear MrKind,
Okay, I'll give it a try -
What about 2018?
33.3.6 - 45.
Retreat - Gathering.
33.3 Emotional ties may keep one from retreating.
33.6 When one is free of the emotional ties one can retreat with ease.

33.3.6 These lines seem to be mirroring your sense that it is your memory of past good times that is drawing you to consider going in 2018 rather than any current connection to the gathering. It also seems to be suggesting that when you fully realize this you may not find the idea of attending the gathering so compelling.

What about 2019?
30.1.2.4 >18

Hexagram 30.1 seems to speak to your uncertainty. Hex 30.2 seems to note that the festival will be a joyous occasion. Hex.30.4 cautions that the festival will only last a short time and then it's over. Hexagram 18. speaks of healing the past but also about waiting for "three days" before making a decision.
All in all it seems to me that 2019 may be the better choice as it will be built on the idea that this is an anniversary, a reunion, a fitting time for those who may have outgrown their hippie days to reconnect once again, and thus perhaps more geared to your frame of mind that you love the old tunes and the artists even though you aren't totally into the scene. However, even though 2019 may be the better choice, is going to either one "fortunate"? After all, there will be considerable expense and as 30.4 says, it wont last long. Anyway, you probably don't have to commit right now so this may be what 18 and the "three days" is referring to.

Bottomline: 2018 looks better than 2019 but it would probably be wise to wait until closer to the actual date to see if you still feel like going.

m2c, Rosada

Sorry guys just realized you answered - thank you so much. I was so busy with work wasnt able to find time to look here. Both answers are spot on. Eh, you are right. It's more about 'memory of a golden past' than any current thing [albeit I still listen to the music, but the music being played over there is mostly changed to satisfy the young crowd and the old tunes are not played too often]I will keep a note on how I ask for the castings- didn't knew about that rule - thanks for letting me know! And re the stability/money thing: certainly, 2018 looks scarce in terms of money, but I am planning a major change of workplace around beginning of 2018 - depends on my looks, so I should definitely be more stable financially in 2019 - maybe something will go wrong, but I dont think so.
