Hi there...

I really need some help with this. I'm in panic mode and can't see this reading subjectively.

My unemployment claim was just denied by VA because they say I left my employer voluntarily. My hours were reduced. It was no longer a full time job, and I couldn't survive if I stayed in that town any longer (unemployment was hovering somewhere around 12% and climbing, and everyone was crying the blues).

I have the right to file an appeal. I asked the Yi what I should say in the appeal, and the answer was 56.2.6. Were they telling me what to say? Or were they telling me to not even bother?

Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Love,

Val

Val,

Focus on no legal matters now. I take this to mean your claim. Not that you shouldn't file a claim but that you shouldn't pour your energy into it just yet.

56.2 You will acquire property and an axe, and win steadfastness. I take this to mean landing employment soon. A means to make ends meet.

56.6 Don't freak out because you might upset the deal that's working.

Your relating is 32. Stand firm in your direction. Duration and perseverance are your servants now.

Hang in there. Things are in the works. Believe.

Hello Val,

I would definitely confirm what Candid said above.
I am just going to copy and paste a couple of excertps from "The I Ching Workbook" by R.L. Wing that you might find helpful.

56.2 "With confidence and self-possession you can attract support from new environments. Think of it as the personal gravity generated by the weight of your principles. Someone is ready to help you in your endeavors."

Hex. 32 (called "Continuing" in The I Ching Workbook) "Social customs will offer assurances and support because of their very endurance. Continuing in traditions that are the understood bases of social interaction will now bring order, unity, and a deep sense of security to you and your community. This doesn't mean a blind dogmatism to arbitrary social institutions, but rather an adherence to foundations that support the growth of sound and smooth-working systems in life."
"In business and political affairs, pay particular attention to the support of policies that have proved themselves useful. This is not the time to change methods of operation for the sake of change. Instead, it is a time to make these methods work with new trends in thought. Success now comes through continuing movement toward long- standing objectives - objectives that are harmonious with a well-ordered life."

Hope this helps. Keep confident. Things should improve over time and it seems you may even get good news soon jobwise. Take heart!

Hi everyone...

Thank you so much Candid and French Taoist for all your help. I was truly in panic mode last night, and I see tonight that I was so distraught I wrote subjective instead of objective. Oh well. I'm a lot calmer and happier now.

Btw French Taoist, I love your nickname... very clever.

Time has proven both your interpretations to be very accurate. After I posted my plea last night, I did some research and discovered that an appeal would be a great big legal bruhaha. Attorneys often get into the action. My unemployment claim needed to be for only four weeks because I actually found a part time sales job that starts next Tuesday, and I go for my third interview for another sales position for which I'm the only candidate. Actually I'm the only candidate because a position wasn't really open, but I decided I wanted to do it and persisted. I just have to meet with the sales manager to see if we connect. The general manager has already decided she wants me on the team.

It's an opportunity I'm very excited about, and I'm eager to tell you all about it once the ink is dry. It's an opportunity the men in grey told me about the day before I stumbled across it.

When I realized an appeal was going to be a big legal ordeal, I consulted the Yi again about letting it go... four small weekly checks is not worth a legal battle. They answered 5.4 to 43. GOOD NEWS! Whenever I get 5 to 43 or 43 to 5, I know that a solution will come soon and things will work out. That's what always happens, and that's just what happened today. Everything worked out better than I could possibly have imagined. Again... everything happens when it does for a reason.

I have no money coming in since my unemployment was denied, and I won't realize any income from my new job(s) for at least another three weeks. But last night I decided to price some of my paintings to sell quickly so I could get some quick income. And I told the Yi as much, but they told me 26.4.5 to 1. I asked why, and they answered 22.5 to 37. I decided to wait then until this weekend and sell some paintings in a coffeehouse nearby for a reduced price, but still they told me it wasn't such a good idea. I asked where I should sell them, and they answered 37. That's when I realized what they'd meant by 22 to 37.

As fate would have it... just in the nick of time, we're having a big family gathering this
Sunday... family is coming in from all over Southern California. There will be opportunities
galore to see and be seen. Considering your spot-on interpretations and what the Yi said later last night and this afternoon and considering my brother-in-law touched briefly on the idea of repping me in the Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage area soon after I got back to town, I have every confidence in the world that something will gel this weekend.

Thank you both again. I very much appreciate your kindness in sharing your understanding of the Yi with me.

Love,

Val

Hi there everyone...

I want to revisit this thread with a little feedback. I don't really know if it's relevant or not.

I ended up filing an appeal after waiting until the very last minute, and I won.

Love,

Val

"I asked the Yi what should I say in an appeal"

Hi Val! shades of "Cut the Yi some Slack" ; )

Do you think the Yi was saying "Tell them you've lost your house!!! etcetc, and i need this to continue!!!" ?

What's your take on the reading now that the issue is resolved?

Hi Cheiron and LiSe and Tashi...

Thank you all very much. Yes winning that appeal and depositing a nice little chunk of "found" money into my savings account was very gratifying indeed.

Tash...

I think you're onto something when you suggest that the Yi answered my question directly... rather than advised me as to how to proceed.

However, I didn't lose my house... I avoided losing it and ending up homeless by leaving when I did. My timing was excellent btw... the company filed Chapter 11 about the time I was boarding the plane... PHEW

When I finally had my hearing, the question on the judge's mind appears to have been did I lose my job because of my own misconduct or because of lack of work. That question and how she arrived at the answer filled most the paper of the final judgment.

And burning one's nest (or losing one's job) due to misconduct is what line 56.6 is about isn't it? Literally? I believe the Yi was showing me the judge's focus so I would know what to say. I didn't realize that but that's okay because my employer actually answered the question for me by stating I had done an excellent job and by not providing a sufficient reason for not providing me with subsequent work.

Love,

Val
