I asked Yi 'has my son aspergers?' and to 21 uc.background: my son has been struggling for years and recently he asked me what did I think was wrong with him.that's a difficult question for a mum to answer. However today at work a psychologist was talking in general about people with Asperger that they have no difficult with the academic work or the sport but their difficulty is with the social/emotional aspects and that if they don't get help with these aspects then life can get very very difficult. I was struck to the spot when she said this as it descried may son perfectly. very very talented but completely unable to function.I appreciate that its a fairly blunt question to ask Yi and I received a blunt answer.so either its No as I read somewhere that UC hex can mean NO in a YES/NO question.Or its 'biting through to the truth'.Would appreciate any insight please.H

Hi Hepzibah,
I just want to give you a very quick answer. As a psychology student (even if not psychologist yet) I can tell you that the sentence above is applicable to a LOT of disorders / problems / situations (also ordinary problems for which many people resort to psychotherapy).
I don't know what is the meaning of your answer, but if I should choose between Yes/No, I would take it as a No. Anyway, I think your answer could be an advice for you instead.

Hello Hepzibah!Hexagram 21 is Biting Through- biting and examining something between your teeth. Sounds like your son should be examined- maybe by different psychologists- to see whether he has Aspergers?

The behaviours you've described really does cover a lot of disorders but it also sounds like both of my youngest children when they were young.......Disorder' - Extreme Shyness - now two of the most confident men I know 24 and 27 years old.

The thing is Society is soooo quick to label behaviours that they don't always look a little bit deeper into the psyche.
