health question - Hex 53 (no change) or Hex 54.5?

My partner has been dealing with an ongoing health problem that requires the use of antibiotics for extended periods of time.

We were given 2 regimes to try, and so I asked him to throw the coins while thinking about each.

He threw 54.5 first, for treatment A, and 53 (no change) for treatment B.

To me, they both seem favourable, but if you were looking at it for treatment of a long term chronic condition, which would you pick?

Your feedback is most welcome.

They're both favorable. I'd choose Treatment A (54.5) first, simply because that was the one you/he chose to enquire about first. I often think that the first choice is the one you're most interested in.

From "Healing lines":
54.5
Your health is best served by being totally subordinant to your higher self, devotion to the ideal is your keynote.

53.
Your path is a slow one, based on evolutionary growth toward greater maturity and health. learn to support the momentum and direction of the healing change; do not attempt to alter it. Keep to traditional meathods.

Hi,

your partner received 54.5>58
Hex 54.5 says this indicates success and close to the next full moon good results will be obtained.

Hex 58 says joy success.

Hex 53 says gradual progress step by step, again successful.

It gives me the impression that treatment A will work faster than B, but saying that they both appear to be okay.

I'd prefer the gradual development of 53.0 over having the secondary position in 54.5.

Could you tell us what the regimens are?

53 and 54 are opposites. So looking to 53 with no changing lines, after some time it will go over in 54.

Also 54 and 53 are both Nuclear hexagrams. The nucleus of 54 is 63 and of 53 is 64.
So also both opposites.

knowing this I would say that the both will work, but 54 will help straight away and 53 after some time.

I hope that the treatment will help and that your partner will recover from her chronic problem.

Best wishes Frank r

He has Lyme disease.

A = Teasel, an herbal remedy that has supposedly been very effective in a limited number of people. Doesn't work for everyone, but those it does work for, it provides a cure.

B= Ketek and Flagyl - both very strong antibiotics that have been used in combination for the treatment of Lyme. They have an excellent track record in long term use in Lyme patients.

Unfortunately, you can't do both at the same time as the alcohol base of the Teasel tincture can't be taken with the Flagyl.

There is some mention in Karcher of "wood" in Hex 53 that was of interest to me, as the disease is tick borne and occurs below the treeline only...

Thoughts?

I think that 54.5 indicates that treatment A is not as good as treatment B (has a secondary position to B). Yet it might work, as there is good fortune in 54.4.

Perhaps A could be used in addition to B anyway, if the amount of alcohol is low with each dose. Have you consulted with your physician about this?

Not yet - he was the one that prescribed the Ketek/Flagyl. We see him next week and can ask him then, although I'm fairly certain he'll want us to wait. One of the unfortunate drawbacks of this drug combo is that after 4-6 months, you need to go off it as it can cause some serious side effects.

Perhaps that's what the Teasel is for - when we're finished. But we will definitely ask!

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, thank you Willow Fox. Wasn't sure how to combine these two threads! I guess from here on in, we should move over to the "Friends" area.

Thanks to all for your feedback - it's been quite helpful.

(I just merged the two threads as M suggested. It plunks all the messages in in chronological order - I think that'll be OK.

P.S. If you consult a herbalist, you may find you can take the Teasel in non-alcoholic form.)
