I'm applying to grad school. My intent was to become a therapist of some kind. There are a few different tracks to go down. I've narrowed it down to Licensed Professional Counselor and School Counselor. When I was in high school I wanted to become a school counselor because I was dealing with so much and had no one to help me. I always thought I'd do that as a job someday. Also, my mom is a school psychologist. I'm wondering, though, if I could handle working in a school and dealing with the mountains of bureaucracy. Also, as an LPC, I'd have the option of working part time. Not with school counselor, although I would get summers off. I'm not a super ambitious person, I enjoy learning new things and I want to help people. I don't know if I have the temperment to work in a school setting. That said, I have three kids, I love kids, and I've worked with them before. I've worked in public schools as a substitute, a tutor, and I taught kids yoga classes for five years. I asked how being a school counselor would affect my life and got 24 unchanging. Thoughts?

To me, the return to a "difficult beginning" where the unguided come to a bad end (the changing line) sounds like you were meant to be a school counselor (or at least this may be the better option). That's just the feel I get.

In either case, I really hope this works out for you.

The question is "What is answered by Yi?" Is it the question you asked or the underlying uncertainty about what to do/choose?
In LiSe Heyboers translation of hex 24 the Return, is one of returning to oneself and his/her Tao
Follow your own road, your own Tao. Only by being oneself over and over again, one fills in one’s place. Like the sun gets it’s meaning from creating day after day, year after year. Who follows his Tao, can be relied upon. Everything he does has the same base, how divers it may be. A Tao can only be followed if one flows along with it. Trying to stick to one road all the time will not work. Every Tao always is a never-ending succession of days and nights, of coming and going, of cycles, endings and new beginnings. Moving in cycles, eternally, that is what Tao looks like.

Even the explanation and description of hex. 3 is a slightly different one, being Beginning, Accumulating. Line 3 in that translation could be read as a gentle scolding ;) not to think to much about the whole situation because you already know the answer (hex 63 Already Across)

Of course it is a bit risky to give an explanation for someone else without knowing the circumstances, but to me it seems Yi is telling you that you already know what to do if you follow your heart instead of your head :).

I hope this is of some help.
