Help with defining Hex 63

In a class project I came up with the hexagram 63 completion. The question I asked was "What should I expect concerning with my wife’s pregnancy". My thoughts on what this means is that she is already pregnant and everything is in order and I must concern myself with what is to come next, having the child. If someone can help me delve further into this reading so that I may right a good paper I would be grateful.

Well, congratulations! I think in this context hex 63 tells you that right now things are in balance. The start is good, everything is fine, but there can always be an element of unpredictability. So it advises you (and your wife) to take into consideration every detail that matters for a healthy, easy pregnancy and delivery. Just be prepared for anything, in order to prevent any undesirable turn. I think Yi is very wise with this answer. If you come to think about it, this applies to any woman in the same situation. This is why they regularly visit their doctors, do tests, eat healthy etc. Even when things are OK, you have to make sure they are OK.

Thank you very much eastern_girl for replying to my question. That was very helpful. I am doing a paper on the I-Ching and Confucius for an Ethics class. It is interesting that the image for this hexagram is water above fire or a kettle above flames ready to cook. This gives new meaning to “one in the oven”. One thing I did not do on that first reading was keep track of if the line was changing or not. I do not think I rolled any 6 or 9 but do not know for sure. I think I will try another related question for my essay probably 2 for a total of three. My first question was done in class for my next one I am going to meditate on it for awile before tossing the coins. My question is going to be “Will my house be in order when the baby arrives”. I will post my result later after I try to intrepid them myself.

I think that's not what comes next. Ask your wife about that. There's a whole boatload of crap that she has to deal with before giving birth. Try to be of some help with that. 63 is about all the anticlimactic stuff in between the dramatic transitions.
