Help with interpretation

i'm new here and looking around for the ebook on I-Ching in hopes that will help as i'm not certain i'm doing things right.

I used wikipedia I-Ching for the Hexagrams after throwing coins. Interpreting is rather difficult for me.

First, I asked did my fiance', in the past cheat(emotionally or physically) on me. I got hexagram 31.

Second, I asked would he and I split up. I got 58

Any help would be helpful.

Did you get both hex 31 and hex 58 with unchanging lines?

In any case, it is hard to get YES or NO responses to questions like those. I would advise that you ask the I ching something like:

What can you tell me about the trustworthiness of my fiance?
what can you tell me about my suspicions of infidelity/cheating?

What can you tell me about the future we have together?

What is your opinion of this relationship?

Well, when you asked about whether or not your relationship was going to fall apart, the Yi told you no, on the contrary, it will be filled with joy. Getting 58 is a good sign, and the only exception would be if your fiance is the type of person who is totally self-sufficient and cannot share and communicate . . . With that exception, getting 58 is a good indication, indeed.

About your other question, his faithfulness, perhaps you should realize that attraction between people cannot be controlled, and you were asking about in the past -- Were you thinking about before you and he got engaged? Hexagram 31 is the picture of a lake resting peacefully up on top of a great mountain, open to the sky. I think the Yi was telling you to be more joyous, open-minded, and receptive about all this. Share your joyousness and let go of these pesky, dark doubts.

I feel the Yi was getting a little short-tempered with you for some reason, giving you two static hexagrams (hexagrams without moving lines): "Be more receptive and open-minded!" and "Be more filled with joy and goodwill!" Could be you have a made a good match, and you're over-analyzing it. Don't dwell too much in thinking about him, because over-dependence on other people creates anxiety. This rule is true even when you're planning to marrying the man! Your doubts are coming from thinking about it too much. Give it a break.

Thank you all for your input. I don't know about lines changing, will have to read more on that, as I-Ching period.

For me, when we lived apart for several months I found some things out he had kept from me. If things were fine then why certain secrets. Ones I won't go into. Sure, much of this 'now' has to do with me getting past that and trusting him. It's one of those things that I wanted to know. So, I asked : )

"see'...meaning see with myself, not only in trusting him, but being more open and not worrying about the past.
