Dear star crazy,

The Yi seems to be questioning your own lifestyle and/or attitude. You seem to be seeking enlightenment in your life, but line 6 describes someone hiding away from others, somehow losing real connection with other people, actually achieving the opposite of what the person is striving for. So, even though a coach is someone whose work is very much based on the interaction with others your reading indicates that this new career path could get yourself somehow more isolated (mentally or emotionally, perhaps?). I wonder if this has to do with the way your are planning to implement your idea ?

Hope that helps:bows:

I think you may have hard time getting customers and building your business. As Miriam mentioned, " your reading indicates that this new career path could get yourself somehow more isolated". I feel that's what line 6 warns against.

Also, as a side note...If by any chance, you are considering to leave your current job for this type of self-employment, IChing will be advising against it. Somehow, I feel like IChing is saying that you trying to run away from your current situation (to screen yourself). This idea is more of a way out for you than a creative venture and will not be successful (or not for 3 years).

I personally wouldn't dwell on the line text. The overall meaning of the hexagrams are what's at the core of your casting, and these indicate success. I mean 55, the hexagram of material wealth, is staring you head-on. Now, through the change in line 6, this becomes 30. The trigram of Fire in the first hex is emphasized, which is the "being like the sun at midday" (happy, positive). There might be a tendency to let negativity or fear creep in, but success depends on you materializing the bright aspect of the trigram Fire. At the center of the trigram Fire is a bit of The Receptive or Earth. At the core of your positive strength there should be receptivity and an ability to adapt.

The line itself shows where the sadness that would distract may creep in. Solitude and inaction... these are traits of melancholy or depression. However, if these are successfully fought, all signs point to it being absolutely favorable to be a raw food cook. I mean Abundant Fire or Fire in Abundance. As a cook, that's gotta be a synchronicity right there! Overall hexagram meanings indicate success, I'd say go for it. Don't dwell of the line too much. The line texts are like "additional notes", but not the core of meaning, at least in my experience.

I think the person wants to be a raw food coach, so I imagine that there wouldn't be any cooking involved, I suppose ;)

Haha, kind of had a brain lapse there. I still think the overall meaning is fairly positive (along with some warnings).

Thank you all for time.
I feel line 6 is warning about isolation as I was thinking of maybe having a large part of the coaching online as opposed to group workshops. I do also need to work myself at the moment as recently had a car accident. I need to heal myself before I can begin. I was also in two minds about taking an online course to become a raw food coach I feel the I Ching is advising against this again because of the isolation. Mryou I get what you are saying about the fire I feel it's the alchemical side of being a raw food coach. My talent with food is changing it and I use a dehydrator which is a oven but doesn't heat food beyond blood temperature so its still considered raw. I do already do this stuff as a living but Ina different way at the moment. I teach classes in schools to parents involving food and nutrition. Unfortunately because of whiplash injuries I don't think I'm going to be able to do as much driving now, this is why I'm considering training as a raw food coach. To be honest I already have the knowledge. Maybe I should consult the I Ching again to see if it gives more insight. I felt it was generally positive just warning me against the isolation of doing an online course and online coaching, I am a people person and now I can see that wouldn't suit me too many hours home alone on the computer.
Thanks All x

Mirian I feel you got it right straight off that the Iching is warning against how I may implement the coaching, online is not the way for me! This was my major decision at the time of asking the Iching. The course will cost over a £1000 pound and involve alot of hours at home alone on the computer. As I said before I am a people person. If this is the way forward for me I need to have one to one or group interaction. Now I can clearly see doing an online course would have been stressful, isolating and maybe caused me to get depressed. The Iching never fails to amaze me :)

Howdy star_crazy

I interpret your reading as saying that your idea and the healthy nature of your diet plan is truly great, however it is still a niche market, which means you close your door on the majority of potential food customers. Some have legitimate reasons, such as digestive system having to work harder, making them physically (and then mentally) intolerant of such an ideal diet. These may be incorrect perceptions, but in marketing, perception is reality. You could make up for the loss of the larger sized market if you maximize your niche marketing potential. Your market share can be large, but the buy-pie is small. It may take three years before you turn a profit, or before what is now seen as a trend to really catch on; or both, ideally.

There's only two ways to increase gross profit: increase your market share and increase [the size of] your market. I see your reading as potentially including both. You gain market by education, such as you are doing (very nicely I might add) with your blog. I'd say, especially given the maximum potential, it's a good start. Question is, are you prepared for the long haul to accomplish this goal? My guess is, yes.

Few quick comments on how h30 may be practically applied to this specific question.

30 is catching an opportunity in a net
30 is the body's burning of fuel/food
30 is the strong, steadiness of a cow (which has four stomachs and eats raw grass!)
30 is dependency on the customers you coach
30 is your customer's dependency on you as their coach
30 is the fire in your belly to help others and promote this service
30 is part of why I said "My guess is, yes."
