The I Ching frequently makes reference to a man and wife, but if that context does not make any sense with regard to your inquiry, you can disregard it. Line 9.6 generally means that now is not a good time to push forward with our interests. In fact, we are actually in a period just before a full moon, also mentioned, and in that respect the oracle may be taken literally.

So . . . when to take the I Ching literally and when to disregard parts of it is a skill that comes with experience.

Maybe H.9 is about the LITTLE ANIMALS that are we, or about our instinctive drives.
I believe that also about ancient marriage customs and fertility rites.

9.6 speaks about RAIN ALREADY FALLEN and a TIME FOR STAYING AT HOME.
It advices to VALUE KIDNESS and WOMEN.
Te OMEN IS DANGEROUS, because THE MOON IS A LITTLE FULL or ALREADY FULL, which means that there is an INCIPIENT PREGNANCY.
Being the girl PREGNANT, all MALE AGGRESSIVENESS is HORRIBLE.

The fallen rain is an euphemism meaning that the act of love was already performed.

I wonder what was your consult. Maybe the previous concepts have little to do with it. Only you can know.
