Candid,

I suppose our differences are in that you never seemed to have asked 'how'? - but not superfically, serious 'depth' analysis and that takes us to the brain and back.

To 'get' the TOTAL IC you will need to follow the same path I have - but I give you IDM so you dont need to... or I give you all of the references so you can get details quickly... or else 'take your time' ;-)

Chris, of course you are correct, I have a very long way to go. It must be nice for you to have arrived. And you are also correct that I concern myself little with "how". But you see, I am not a scientist, only a simple man who actually believes in synchronicity and the oracle effect itself. It isn?t the tools that makes the house but the carpenter. ;)

Hi Kev,

Well, I thought I was making it up the mountain just fine, but then I learned it erodes to the benefit of the earth, so I'm sorta back down here in the salty plains again. That's ok though, its all good. I have stories now from that trek, they make me who I am, those stories. They allow me to grasp some of life, though mystery is still my master.

Things are very busy right now, a total change line to only a month ago. Not much online time, which for me is a good thing. Soon I'll try to figure out what those graphs are that you've been posting, though I've never been much good at understanding those sorts of things. I still don't understand nuclear trigrams, if you can believe that. I just stare at the astrological charts, provided so kindly by LiSe, not having a clue. But I don't beat myself up over those things anymore, did enough of that already for this lifetime.

I love the fact that we are individual. One makes up for what the other is lacking. I think that's one of the key things in any flourishing culture.

So how's the weather on your mountain?

Hi Candid-
re Nucler Trigrams (Hu Ti) and Nuclear Hegagrams (Hu Gua) try this little paperback:
Ponce, Charles. The Nature of the I Ching. New York: Award Books, 1970.
It's OP and very hard to find but there's one on ABE now, there were four last winter http://dogbert.abebooks.com/abe/IList

Brad, thanks but I honestly don't think I care to understand Nuclear Hexagrams. No disrespect intended. I've really enjoyed our dialogue here and appreciate what you've shown me.

Leonard, 'Nuff said.'

Hi Candid-
No offence taken. I don't use them much myself. It just sounded like you might be looking for more info.
You should know, though, that the Hu Ti at least (maybe not Hu Gua) are a very old dimension, in interpretive use long before the Wings were written.
The book I mentioned, for anyone interested, comes well recommended by several authors besides me.

Candid,

"only a simple man" LOL! if you were simply and truely believed in synchronicity you would be out there living that simplicity. your not. your here. your not simple. too much of a sense of wonder. too much of a sense of 'what is behind that?"

Hi Malka

"Would you agree that 05 promises something great to come? There is something that is coming, right? It's just the future which comes in it's own time, it's something worth the expectation of waiting for also, right?"

I don't think 5 is concerned at all with the nature of what's being waited for; I think it's concerned with the waiting and how you wait.

Presumably, if you think something's worth waiting for, then it's important to you. But I don't think that means it's necessarily going to be good for you. We all want things that we don't need sometimes, and we all make mistakes sometimes with things we reach for right here and now or things we think are worth waiting for. That's one way we learn.

I'm still getting the sense that 05 is about waiting for destiny to unfold, and to me this means something good.

My thoughts,
Malka

Looking at LiSe's website and Steve Marshall's book, it seems that 5 Waits for a change in the weather. Not a trivial matter when you have food to grow.

But I doubt it means waiting in a passive way - more preparing, participating in the process, expecting with such intensity that what you need has to come to you. I have the feeling this is what 'shines out' in the judgement.

Hi Candid

I will keep this brief as I don?t want to interrupt the thread more than that.

Really glad something is breaking for you.

The weather on Tai is great? keep getting hit in the shins with low flying birds and there is the odd angry ghost haunting it here and there? The views are every bit as good as the Yijing guidebook said they were but some silly wandering sage burnt the hotel down so I am in a tent?

You know I don?t think I have ever met two people who have the same view / relationship with the Yijing? As you say it makes for a richer culture. I am still waiting for your Yijing in ?One liners? to come out? It is a must.

Something tells me Malka's into something good! I agree with you, Malka, pardon the cliché' but good things come to those who know how to wait.

Kevin.. laughin here

Ghosts are our friends, even when they don't mean to be, and it is where the ancestors live after all. I didn't know Tai had a hotel! ..had being the active word. Send me your addy and I'll mail a cot.

What kind of one liners?

Thought I already did that. Geeze doesn't anyone pay attention? Just kidding. I thought you meant one liner jokes, like, how may hexagrams does it take to screw in a light bulb? Answer: It depends.

Kev, if you mean as in Tung Jen, I love it. But I suppose it could also be 7? hmm or 37? Like I said, it depends. chuckles

I have no clue what you're all talking about in the last couple posts ...

But yes, I think I may be into something good too. The clouds released a light mist today, I'll let you know when the rain starts to fall in the coming couple of weeks.

Blessings to all,
Malka

a song of waiting -

night is night
as day is bright
in-between may seem to last forever
forever it may be
though to me its almost morning
and morning comes only once a day

Overall, and in the end, that's what I believe too. Especially if you can help it unfold, or at least not block it or twist it in its unfolding.
