Hex 20 UC Meet again

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since I posted a question. I would be grateful and appreciate your opinion on this reading.

I wonder how you would interpret Hex 20 UC as an answer to the question “Will I and “XX” meet again?” My spontaneous gut reaction is that the answer is a yes. Seeing, yes, we will meet again. What do you think?

Grateful for any insights.
Thank you.

Hi gnichi,
For me, in yes/no questions, 20 unchanging plays out as 'no'.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I would appreciate any other opinions. If anyone else has the time. This is a dear person to me.

Found this now from Trojina, as a reply to a similar question.

I don't see it (20) as a hexagram of 'not doing' or of 'stopping' its merely a pause before you carefully make your intended move. I think it shows its a decision important to you. You've made all the preparations but not yet the sacrifice thats all. So I don't see your answer as 'don't go' but just be aware that this is the moment shortly before the sacrifice you make, by 'sacrifice' here I mean the action you take.

Could the answer be: Yes, you will meet but later on, after a time of contemplation?

I asked for clarification: ”Please clarify 20: will we meet again”, and the reply was 20.5.6>2, which I thought was interesting. If anyone else would like to share their opinion on this reading I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

I'm not sure how well Yi is answering your specific initial question. It just sounds like you're both considering meeting again. You could ask What do I need to know about our connection?

Well Hex 32 is usually about things staying the same as they are, a permanent situation. Is this an inconsistent connection?

20. Viewing can mean watching for omens at a key moment. Do you remember what was said or what was going on around the two of you the last time you met? Did he say anything that would indicate if he had an intention of continuing the friendship? Like, "I'll call you" (Yes!) or "So long, Kid" (Nope)? I would see 20. as saying that moment was giving you a View of what the future holds.

So if I understand you correctly, hex 20 is saying watch for the last “sign” you got from him.

This was a completely new take on hex 20, interesting.

Do you see anything more in this hexagram? I suppose 2. with no change lines could simply be the I Ching answering the question with a straight, "You View him." I'm wondering though, if this was also a comment on the meeting like, "You View him but that's all that happens," or "You View him. Anything more you'd like to see happen?"

I’m sorry, but I don’t really understand the question. I approach Yi in a more literal straight forward way. I asked if we would meet again, Yi replied with hex 20 uc, and we did meet again. That’s all I can say really.

Just wanted to update and thank everyone that replied to my question.
