Dear Fellow Seekers

It's great to be back with a question. I have just been accepted by a leading content provider as a Contributing Writer and have posted just 2 articles. It will take at least 50 articles before I see any money coming in from Google Ads placed on the pages. I asked the Yi what are my chances of success and drew hexagram 21 without moving lines (twice!). Does it mean I have to work hard and there'll be success or could there be legal hassles of some kind? There are lots of old articles I can use provided they're not in use elsewhere. I used to write articles for a UK website but I doubt they have used some of these articles -- I haven't found them with my plagiarism check. I have no idea where they posted the content I wrote. So if my free plagiarism checker does not find any matches on the web, I suppose I can go ahead, right? It may be free but it did show me one of my articles (ezine articles) being used by a website. Of course my byline is included as is expected. So I know the free check works.

What do your current content provider and the old UK website say about it? What did you agree to when you signed up with them? Under what terms are (were, for the previous site) your articles submitted? Make sure to read carefully all of the rules and other legal documentation at both websites.

Hex 21 suggests that in order to succeed on this issue, you are going to have some hard work ahead of you, therefore you need to persevere, be practical and sort out all the fiddly bits.

I recently had hex 21 when asking for a general reading for the day ahead.

And later that day, I ended up taking action against something that was bringing me down - eliminating it - not that it doesn't still affect me - but I did something to protect/ assert myself. So maybe it is a warning saying you need to give short thrift to anything or anyone that seems like they don't have your best interests at heart. This isn't a time to sit back because maybe you could be taken advantage of? It could also just be referring to biting through your misgivings so you can dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to the writing after 'getting rid of the ballast' and 'clearing away the rubble'. So I guess there must be something wrong that you need to deal with, but that could just as well be inside as out. But as you got it twice, I'd be extra aware.

Thanks for this! I think 21 in my case has to do with revisions! I do get 'flagged' by my expert editors and I do work hard on revision at times. My first article had two revisions. Luckily the others get by with just one! Legally I doubt there's anything murky as the contract is ip front and one can always tell what's happening by the forums.

I could only think of one other thing--well--two actually, Circe.:)
You mentioned the revsions, so that already makes sense, but in the same vein,I was thinking that the Biting Through might mean you will have to really work to get through to the truth of the matter, or, to the real gold hidden within[whatever situation you are writing about]. .There's something keeping the jaws from meeting, and you have to bite and chew through whatever's in the way.
And the only other thing I was thinking of is that #21 can mean a situation in which someone else is not being honest with you, or perhaps not being honest with yourself .
I don't think it's you, if that's at all the case btw..

I agree with many of the above comments. I think it says that after a lot of arduous work, you will succeed. I picture a leather thong preventing the mouth from chewing and therefore preventing you from getting nourishment (the success). You have to bite through that thong, which is a tough job. Writing 50 articles for no pay, i would suggest, is in itself the biting through process.

By the way, you say you got the same hexagram twice. Did you ask the same question twice in a row? Or did you ask it over a period of time? Just curious to see how others deal with I Ching results.

Hi Anita,

Don't forget to provide links to your articles, either here, or, even better, in your profile. I'd like to read them.

Best wishes,

Hi Fellow Seekers
all wonderful advice. My last two articles on suite101 haven't been 'flagged' YET by an editor -- so I suppose they're fine. Yes it IS hard work but I love it. One has to think of SEO and many other things that make articles successful. And cash depends on people clicking the Google Ads. While on Associated Content, I get paid for Page Views (these take long time to accumulate). So here are both links. Please check out my articles and let me know if I'm biting through.

I asked the Yi about Success on Suite101 twice in a row, but worded slightly differently.
