Hi,

This is my first post, and am seeking an advice/interpretation of this hexagram. I asked the question: what does the future hold for X and I?

The background to situation is as follows: X is my ex-boyfriend. We broke up about three months ago and continued to live together until about a month ago. We were together for over four years, and had the friendship turned love kind of romance that we both expected would last forever. Our break-up was unique: we had just moved out of state for my grad program and I broke up because of these stresses and feelings I felt guilty having for someone else. We had mentioned working on things but have decided to go our separate ways at this point. I would like to continue to work on my self/school at the moment, but want to work on things at some point.

At this point, I am feeling very confused because I love and know that I want to be with him in the future, but what exactly is i-ching telling me about this (and him, at all)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, you can't have him just dangling on a piece of string like a spare key, only to be used in case of an emergency or if at all.

You need to know what you want, do you want a new toy boy or will you be prepared to get back to basics, just you and him? You cannot ride two horses at the same time.

If you can withdraw from your "new" friend and renounce temptation, then yes your "old" friend may well take you back as he was quite a special friend until you messed it up but amends can still be made, so the ball is in your court, will you pick up the ball or will you just sit and look at it.

The future revolves around communicating with him to start with.

I think you definitely nailed it. The other/temptation one is no longer in my life, and I have realized that my ex is the only person I want to be with. When you speak of hanging him on string--that is exactly the problem at the moment. We we're going to work things out, and I backed out (because those other feelings weren't gone). Mainly, I just wanted the space/freedom to clear my head and be certain my feelings were all for him (but he sees it as me just not wanting him). So, I know I have a lot prove to him--and exactly like you say--that I am certain of my feelings. My worry though is that the timing is too soon for him to believe that I am ready for it to just the two of us again, and that he is the only one I ever want.

I actually tried communicating this earlier today, but I just received a big "not right now." And him saying he needs time, but I have felt a communication breakdown as I have many many things to explain.

So when you mean "communicating," do have any idea how I can best influence this or will time (like he's specified) be the only remedy? Do these lines give any indication of the time I should wait to prove my feelings/commitment if this is the case?

The middle of the month of May looks like a rewarding time for communications, but you need to be honest, sincere and enthusiastic to get back with him. Plus the longer that you leave it the more the distance will grow.

Hex 19 unchanging

Hi,

I asked the iching for 'insight into getting back with my ex' and received hex 19 with no moving lines.

I know this has to do with the eight month and spring as a time of growth, but am unsure whether this is a positive or negative omen. I want to be sincere and genuine when I approach him with my intent to rekindle our relationship, and would appreciate any insight into what this means (and any correlation to receiving hex 22)
