Interesting to know what others think on this...

I asked should I trust my instincts on not taking medication for blood pressure to enable me to have a gall bladder operation

My blood pressure rockets when I am anxious - but today after a 24 hour monitor the readings (apart from when I was at the surgery and when my daughter phoned ) were within the limits acceptable. The figures are higher than they ahould be for someone if my age lifestyle and fitness but of no concern at the moment. BP over 24 hours averaged 147/81 - the hospital said that on the monitor readigs they are happy to go ahead. It does depend a bit on the reading on the day - the GP said That they would then delay and we could think again...the alternative is to go on a low dose of a calcium drug ..if it was not for the operation she said that she would just monitor my BP every 3 months

My instinct on this is that I should just toddle along for the operation and see - surely I can stop the anxiety in some way. If my BP goes from 142/82 to 177/111 in the space of 10 minutes when I am in hospital then surely I can do something myself.

I got 42 UC and just wondered if I am not listening well enough - if I was missing something. I never take prescribed drugs for Anything and somehow feel that I need to listen here. I do need my gallbladder out - it is a malevolent little blip - but taking tablets for the rest of my life (possibly) feels so wrong

I am not asking for advise on health issues just how hex 42 relates to using my instincts. My decision will be my own

But you won't need the tablets for the rest of your life will you, they are only until you get the op out of the way ?

Anyway I think perhaps 42uc here might say just make sure you keep pouring in energy to the good. I think it says, let me check, can't find it, anyway I think the Image is along the lines of 'where a person sees improvement they go towards that with energy.' So in effect it's advise to pursue that which improves you....which is actually quite vague in this context. I've always found 42uc a little vague but I think it calls for seeing the best in things, viewing things as blessings....ignoring the minus side of things because you are too busy focusing on the plus side.

How can that apply ? Simply, how can you devote your energy to your own highest benefit with regard to this ? Often we know how to do this for others but it's not so clear for ourselves. Maybe think of yourself as if you were another person or another being. Now say it was a dog you dearly loved and the dog had this medication option re the gallbladder op what would you advise it ?

Think in terms of purely what is best for you. Yes I know that's what you were already trying to do that's why you asked the question, but that's all I'm getting from 42 uc here.

I will also say that sometimes this answer comes down to ignoring what's wrong in order to focus on what's right. 42uc doesn't always show up in the best of circumstances. I wonder if you have been focusing so much on the negative side effects of the medication and so on that you are in danger of not appreciating the good the medication can do in terms of guaranteeing your op goes ahead as planned.

It won't be fun if you go through all the prep for the op which includes not eating, pre op nerves, getting to the hospital....all that in itself is stressful, going through all that and then them saying "sorry butterfly we cannot do it ". I personally would not want that to happen. I think if I were going to put myself forward for it (which as you know I did) I would want to be sure that on the day it could just go ahead as planned rather than be sent home and have to reschedule for another day. That would be miserable. So FWIW personally I would take whatever was advised so that I could be sure I could have the op. Well I mean if it's guaranteed the medication will take care of the BP then I'd take it. If it's not guaranteed I might not be sure. Actually I think I would take it because it will not be fun to get to the hospital and then be sent home again because your BP is too high, that would be a nuisance to everyone including you and a waste of time. Not to mention you need that gallbladder out ASAP

I think you should trust your instincts, always.
h42 Increase, gain.
The high (mind) support the low (body), which in return are filled with joy and gladly do their job (bp).

Richmond:
In lines 3 and 4 there is an active outer structure in which we are involved, it is supported by feeling (line 2) but this feeling is not what we consider to be important (line 5 is closed) it is what we do that has importance.

This flow shows an advantageous time for outer activity because we are not too involved and we do not manipulate and make mistakes. Our inner being is supportive of the outer action and is maturing through the experience. This is an excellent situation for accomplishing what has been planned;

The flow of life seeks the high, becoming firm yet gentle, resisting indulgence.
In seeking the highest the low is fulfilled.

Wilhelm's comments are also positive
When he discovers good in others, he should imitate it and thus make everything on earth his own. If he perceives something bad in himself, let him rid himself of it. In this way he becomes free of evil.

I didn't post my answer because I was unsure, but yesterday I've watched "BBC. Inside Harley Street. Part 3"
Harley Street is an upscale group of buildings where many individual doctors are free to run their [often very expensive] practice.
Wiki: Today, there are more than 3,000 people employed in the Harley Street area, in clinics, medical and paramedical practices, and hospitals such as The Harley Street Clinic and The London Clinic.

The third part was about unorthodox medicine: leeches, EFT [Tapping], acupuncture etc.

One doctor believes that body can sense (via magnetic field) whether a particular substance (food/medicine etc.) is beneficial.
The person is lying on the back, the doctor holds the bottle of pills near the patient's body, and asks loudly : "Shall we try this brand of B5 supplement?", and the person tries to push the doctor's arm with their hand.
Judging by the amount of force exerted by the hand - he makes a decision.
The basic principle is: If your body accepts the medicine - your hand will relax, otherwise it tenses up, ready to fight.

I'll try to observe myself when I'm making decisions from now on: Will I tense up or become relaxed.
