I am new on reading the I ching and so far I´ve got very clarifying answers that helped me a lot. So, I don´t know if this will sound silly, but asking if I am pregnant would be a valid question and would the book give me the right answer for that? It was an unplanned accidental situation and it´s still too early for a test, and this is driving me extremelly anxious, so in an attempt to shed some light into this situation I asked if I am pregnant and got hexagram 45 lines 1 and 2 changing. I am not very sure if it's a positive answer. Can anyone help me with that? What do you think?

Hi theriverdance, and welcome.

The answer sounds to me like no, you're not.
Line 45.1 speaks of your anxiety, and then relief comes.
Line 45.2 speaks of gathering when invited, so since this was not planned, I'd say you're not.

However, I'd have a caution about the hidden line, 17.2.
It says that one has to make a choice - either follow the man, or the child.
Is your partner not keen on the idea of children?
Are you trying to be pregnant without his consent in an unplanned manner?
Of course only you can know what this choice (man or child) could mean.
Perhaps he wouldn't like an unplanned pregnancy, but would be ok with it if you both agreed.

Hi diamanda! Thank you very much for your view. Answering your questions.. no, I don't wanna get pregnant in an unplanned way, I cant now, that's why I am so anxious about this. And I am not sure about his position... what happened was that he wasn't careful when it happened and he only told me after, but he says he doesn't want it also. So I am quite confused with all this and that's why I asked the I ching.
Thanks for your help! :)
