Goodness gracious me! My agent just sent me a mail and asked if I am free tomorrow in order to discuss "things" - well, I am a little annoyed, of course. Can't he write down IMMEDIATELY if they are good or bad news? I know that there are still two companies interested to my novel, but none of them seemed willing to sign a contract... Anyhow, this time I asked the Oracle the following specific question: "Just tell me the first thing I have to do in order to be published". Answer hex. 50, no changing lines. Sounds even too positive, to me... But I do not understand. Is the Oracle just mocking me? "My dear girl! You must be rich with nourishment as a cauldron... That is, the first thing you have to do in order to be published is to WRITE..." (haha).
Well, no, this cannot be - even if I am used to see hints of a great supernatural sense of humour in my destiny... But, suppose they (I mean, the publishing companies) just ask for some editing (they always do...): is the Oracle telling me: "just do it, even if you have no contract. Go on and they'll take you!". This maybe sounds more reasonable. But I do not see in hex. 50 any invitation to take risks. I see ripeness, abundance, success, but no risks to run. I'm perplexed. What do you think about?

The cauldron is a thing used to create something, in this case a book, the book equates to wood which feeds the fire of success. But the book is finished, bar the corrections, so what to do? You want to be published, you have the book and you have a potential publisher, so the link is, going to see that person tomorrow. Forget about the other companies and just concentrate your effort here, tomorrow, that is the first thing you have to do.

YES I talked to my agent and what came out is exactly what I thought: YES the company likes you, but, YES you must DEFINITELY edit your novel, if you want to have a chance to have a contract. To me it sounds like: "Pretty good work. Now show us you can DO it AGAIN..." I'm no absolute beginner, but my fear is leading me on the verge of tears - maybe I simply CANNOT do it. Maybe I'm not brilliant enough. Anyhow I understand I am going on. Good news, after all.

So what you have cooked up needs to be seasoned to accommodate
the tastes of others? That's not so surprising. It will do well in
proportion to how it pleases.
