Hex 63

Hello
I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to share any thoughts or experiences with hex 63 please?

Last night, after a very strange couple of days at work, I asked for a 'picture of where I am now'. I got 63.1.5 => 15

My feeling is that this is a 'you've reached the end of the road' reading, but Sarah Dening's commentary says 'Mission Accomplished', and talks about everything being fine. So I'm confused, and feeling very off balance.

I always enjoy reading people's experiences and knowlege of particular hexagrams here, and wondered if maybe anyone has anything to say about 63?

Thank you

Hi Ann,

Might it help if you think of 64 as becoming and 63 as being? It may sound overly simplified but I believe that at its root, it is the way it is. It differs from being at "the end of the road" because every end is a new beginning. It is sort of an "Ah!" moment. That seems fitting your question of "where am I now?" If you can honestly say "Ah!" to this answer, then that is 63, for example.

The temptation we?re faced with in 63 is to add something to it. It?s like an artist, who after completing her painting, ponders adding that one additional stroke or element. The one that could ruin its perfection.

Line 1 says "no harm" and line 5 gives no obvious admonition, only a statement that it be such. I almost get the feeling that this is saying, hey, what happened today is a done deal and you don't need to worry about it anymore, unless you aggravated the problem. Line 5 is the place of the ruler, so a boss might be involved. But it sounds like you could make too big of a deal of it, and let it affect you adversely. I think line one might be telling you what happened is such that there is no harm in it unless you keep on going. The wheels of the carriage that drag in the mud might be referring to emotional charges on this situation that could lead to future problems. Emotional charges creating a magnetic polar effect in the mind, and attract to themselves further experiences of like kind. It is simply necessary to make a small gesture to right the situation. Hexagram 15 is the hexagram where things even out. What once was too high is made low, and what was too low is made high. It seems to me that leaving it alone and not focusing on it is the solution. Of course, I don't know how serious the "strangeness" was.

Good luck

Thank you Candid and Gene, I really do appreciate the help I get here when I can't make sense of answers. What happened what a very confusing training class I gave, where the participants told me at the end that they didn't get what they wanted - despite having clearly stated objectives, agenda, asking if what they were getting was right and receiving positive answers. What they wanted was 'everything' of a huge topic in a day.

The disturbing part was hearing from them that the powers to be in this client had decided not to run the class any more, despite it being one of the highested rated that they do. Reason? Price. Not my price, which is actually very low, but the internal price charged because I am an outsider. This is a multinational corporation, and our biggest client, and if they do not want it any more, we're in trouble. Of course we'd change it if they'd only talk to us about what they want - but they won't.

So, lots of emotional charge! I did make a small gesture without panicking, and I took it that the wheels need getting out of the mud and on to the open road - I'm working on that one.

Funnily enough, I then asked 'Given what happened, what is the best way forward' and got 42. Supplementary question 'what should I undertake?' - 63!!

Many, many thanks for your help. I am very grateful to you both.

Hi Ann,

You're very welcome.

Isn't business fun? Since the client refuses to give you the information you need to better tailor your presentation to their goals and objectives, it falls to your company to take the lead, laying out a specific agenda to cover your presentation material, in the manner you deem as most effective for their company.

This also sounds very much like the 42 you've received, as "the best way forward", in this situation. I'd also take it as a hint to raise your price, or at least to consider doing so. To me, this sounds like a stall more than an honest objection to continuing your training process with them. 42 is not just a result, but a means to achieve the result.

"What should I undertake?" 63, Bringing this to completion.

Best wishes with your endeavors.

Just to let you know:

What we learned has made us rethink our strategy with this company in the light of what we discovered. And, there is a little glimmer of light because we thought of a way of circumventing the centre, re-working what we already do and offering new services.Getting the price up is an interesting one - it might just work out that way. If it does, you'll be the first to know.

Thanks again both of you

Ann,

Love the feedback. Breakfast of champions, ya know. (One Minute Manager)

I'm actually very curious what approach you wind up taking with this client. I get the impression that you may be dividing into a niche? marketing approach. Sort of ala carte.

Niche marketing is exactly what we do - and I think our approach will be 'go round the obstacle, don't try to overcome it'. Breakfast of champions - you've never seen me first thing in the morning ;-)

It won't be a fast fix (but there again, you never know), but if and when anything happens, I will come back and report.

Thanks again
