Five of the lines were meant to be read from above to below.
Six of the lines were meant to be read from below to above.
The number of characters 786776 in the six lines correspond to:

Zhouyi 786776 = hexagram 18.1,4 (Ku zhi Ta Yu)
Guicang 786776 = hexagram 18.2,3,5,6 (Ku zhi Pi)
Lianshan 786776 = hexagram 18.5 (Ku zhi Sun)

A few commentaries to the translation:

Line 1: "the prior" means Gun, the father of Qi, the first Xia Dynasty king.
Line 1: "the Earth of Heaven" means the "Son of Heaven"
Line 5: "We" was one of four ways, that a "Son of Heaven" spoke to his subordinates.
Line 6: "dam burst" relates to Gun, who was executed because his faileure taming the flood.
Line 8: The existent state means "the Zhou state".
Line 9: "the great four" are four ways, that a "Son of Heaven" spoke to his subordinates.
Line 11: "The rules of speaking" are "the great four".

Knowing that a 375 BC diviner read hexagram 18 as related to the beginning of the Xia dynasty
makes the reading/translation of the hexagram lines a little more easy:

Six at the beginning:

The stem father went to the existence of poison.
The deceased father of the 1th branch had no catastrophe wetstone ending auspicious.


Gun, the father of Yu the Great, was executed by poison according to the above litteral translation.
Gun couldn't stop the flood, because he hadn't the tool (a catastrophe wetstone) to stop it.
"the 1th branch" is the character "zi", that too means "son", but does it mean Yu the Great?
The 1th Xia king was Qi, who wasn't the son of Gun according to official history of China?
The son of Gun was Yu the Great, who stopped the flood, and Qi was his son; or was he?
I read the line as saying, that Yu the Great and Qi (that means "first") were brothers!
