Hi guys,

Following on from my recent posting about finding a peaceful life for me and my son (hex 18.2.4 to 56) and the comments and suggestions on the thread I wanted to clarify how do I actually break free from my current situation (i.e. by dealing with my internal reservations and blockages or by actually standing firm in what I believe is right and finally walking away from the relationship for good). I got a hexagram 19, unchanging.

I am puzzled by the comments regarding the eighth month, especially so since my secret deepest hope was to actually be able to move further out and create a physicall distance between me and my ex partner. My work contract ends in August (eighth month!), which would mean I would be able to move on then, find a new job and even relocate with my son somewhere where we could rebuild our lives. So what does "reaching an end in the eighth month means a pitfall" mean? Does it mean that if I wait until August to resolve the situation, I will not succeed? Or am I taking it too literally? Apparently "to receive hexagram 19 with no moving lines is unusually auspicious. It means there is no pitfall of the eighth month anywhere in sight", but auspicious in resolving it in what way??

This is just too confusing. Help!

Hi Veronica,

19 has a lot to do with leadership and taking responsibility, and benevolence toward those in your charge. It represents an opportune growing season, but that season (spring/summer) doesn't last forever. The work needs to get done while the gettin' is good, in order to have a fruitful harvest and plentiful winter.

For me, there is sometimes the sensation of being watched and nurtured from above, as I watch and nurture others in my care. I think that's an important element of 19. Ya gotta have faith.

Many thanks Meng for your comments. The key issue here is indeed my son and acting in his best interest. The big question is what is the best option for my son, moving away from his dad (my son is 2.5 years old now) to build a peaceful and stable life or by going back to the relationship so that my son can have both parents living under same roof. Many times in my life I opted out of relationships perhaps too quickly, without giving it a proper chance. It was always this strong internal urge to move on. Now I have a child so I have to think again and again before I make any decisions.

I am still not sure what the hexagram is telling me, I cannot see an answer to my question. And what is it with the eighth? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Many thanks....

#19 and 8t month

Hi Veronica.:)I think what Meng was saying was including the meaning of the 8th month--meaning that what we do to get ahead now counts and we must continue to "work in our garden"or weeds will come back and the colder air will eventully come, so we have to do our planting now (do whatever it is we are interested in 'approaching' or doing) in the Spring.
I find it interesting too that you were already thinking of the 8th month(August)--which probably is not a coincidence.
Though, in the Chinese calendar, the first month is roughly February it's a lunar calendar I think, but I know the 1st month is late January/early February, so the 8th month might mean September then for your endeavor.

Hi Proserpine, many thanks for your imput. If you don't think it is a coincidence that my plan of moving on Aug/Sep lines up with hexagram 19, do you then think that the message here is that if I wait until September to resolve the situation then "reaching an end in the eighth month means a pitfall"?
