Hexagram 23 yet again...

Maybe is off track.... maybe not.
1.- Magadalena asked about her intention of change an inner wall in order to make her home warmer
2.- Her answer points: not to do that
3.- Then Magdalena asked about the energy in her home (Feng Shui)
4.- Her new answer points: the best energy is in inner place; the real problem is not in inner place but in main entrance.
5.- If you join first answer (numer 2 in this post) and the second answer (number 4 in this post) you can get:
"don't change the inner wall, because there is the best energy of your house, the real problem is not in that wall but in the main door of your house".
If this is correct, I guess the post is still ON TRACK

Hey LiSe I dreamt about you last night - in a kind of shop place, like that picture, where a row of people were working at a table in the next room. Funny thing was I could not properly meet you because someone was carrying me, carrying me upright like people carry children on their hip or against their body - it was very uncomfortable and I had no control over how long I stayed anywhere, because this person carried me, lol. (I have the feeling I wanted you to show me something you had done) I did however manage to introduce myself and shake your hand, before my carrier whisked me away. Nice to meet you anyway, lol.

There is a big parking lot with trees around, would be nice if all of us could meet there! Setting up tables with sun-shades - uum, why not get some summer sun for the occasion too? - and wander from one table to the other, everywhere talking and laughing.

I loved the picture of the colourful house/shop, reminds me of the sugar house in Handsel and Gretel (if i got that right ? they were lured into a house of candy I think to be eaten ?)

Ten year old thread, forgive me. But as we can see from this thread, this line and reading 23.4>35 is fairly mysterious. How do you get to the positive hex "progress" from the seemingly negative 23.4 line with so much judgment attached to it? I have two thoughts on this: the first is the late Chris Lofting's view and the second is an experience I had with the line.
Of 23.4, Lofting says:
"The tie between the individual and the tradition is broken, it's heart revealed." - reducing the place of rest (our beliefs, the 'light') to its essentials by the use of flesh and as such the coverings rather than focusing on the structure which the coverings enclose, i.e. the bones, is doomed to failure.
Line position 4 is ruled by hexagram 16. Thus the 16-ness of 23 is described by analogy to the characteristics of hexagram 35. The push to bring something into the light can be too focused on the superficial - foresight/planning misguided? Our pruning can be too 'lite'."
So here is a hint of the positive movement, a "resting place" in terms of tradition of belief is not always a good thing, when such things "fail" or are "destroyed" (as many readings for this line indicate) that is actually progress taking place. Then what the finger wagging Sages of the Yi have judged as "Evil" and "Misfortune" is actually calling bad good.
In my experience, I dropped off a token birthday gift (Lise calls Hex 35 "The Gift) at a friend's house, and casually asked the Yi how that was received. So I puzzled over the 23.4 reading as it did not make any sense to me for many reasons. As I was metaphorically scratching my head, I got an "Aww thanks" text thanking me a few times, that also mentioned crashing early.. Because of a chronic illness she is tired a lot, and I guess was thinking how nice it might be to not have to rest so much, to have more time to celebrate life... So seems like the destruction the Yi speaks of is of the negative effect of illness causing staying in bed a lot, and feeling motivated to get out more. That is progress, and I can feel like what I did was not destroying or "splitting apart" the relationship, but actually helping motivate someone to live life more enthusiastically (Lofting's hex 16 reference!)
Perhaps Confucius and Mencius etc. were a bit more judgmental in their commentaries than is always helpful?

Got 23.4 recently for a question: "Will the doctors let my grandma go home today?" after she spent 2 weeks in a hospital.
Surely they did, and my first thought after the casting was "Oh good, she will be able to get away from bed".
It was about 2 weeks ago and she is feeling fine.

Yeah, like the Yi is saying "hey man, split from that resting place!" The Yi is cool.
Had similar thing with 5.4 "Waiting in blood, get out of the cave." Meaning literally don't sit around here all day, get out of your man cave/foxes den, get your "blood" or energy flow moving, you need to be active right now. Often practical, good advice and not really a heavy thing to say.
