Hexagram 3.2 changing to 60

Hello all again . This is actually about another reading I did for myself where it shows that I will get an opportunity during the month of May to be in a serious relationship. I asked Iching for further clarity on this for May to see what type of commitment I would get an opportunity to be in. I received Hexagram 3 & line 2 (changing to 60..does it changing means 'future'?) I really get confused when they change to a whole different number.

Well, I noticed line Hexagram 3/Line 2 was spot on because the reading indicated a marriage-like commitment. A bit of background is that I currently live with my ex who I was with for 7 years. We aren't together & are just here for the kids in the meantime. So, yeah we are just roommates nothing more.

There are 2 men I met almost 10 years ago - I noticed line 2 states this. One I currently talk to, and the other is the one who I can't seem to get over in a sense. Basically, the one who got away. Both of them I had trouble with in the beginning. One of them I felt disrespected me, so stopped talking to him. And the one who "got away" I basically lied to regarding my feelings because I was afraid! I thought he was 'too good' for me at the time I really thought he was my dream boy (ahh, teenage love). We have spoken after our teenage years, but it just ends up with us disgreeing. I don't want to add too much details ebcause I don't want to influence anyone's insight .

I searched this hex and noticed someone saying that someone from their past, 10 years ago did come into their life, but nothing came from it. I would like to know if both things are on the mark regarding the prediction for May? I don't want it to be my ex. I will be disappointed if it is. Him I have known for 8 years and together for 7. I do think it is the guy that I know for 10 years & still talking to. We recently reconnected in February.

I think Hexagram 3 most likely means that I will say no, or nothing positive will come from it. But just wanted some insight. I will keep you all updated in May/June to see what happens. Thank you in advance

I started to reply but didn't want to make you gloomy. In 3.2 the girl is too young to procreate, though an offer looks good it isn't even remotely ripe yet.....how long can you wait. Of course you could be right and it refers to the 10 years that have passed yet if it was imminent I don't think you'd cast 3.2 now.


I also didn't answer becasue I fundamentally don't believe in these predictions like you describe here

It's not that I don't believe in predictions at all but I am very wary of hard predictions based on Yi casts like this where you sit and wait for it to happen....on the basis of what ? What Yi reading tells you you will have an opportunity for a relationship in May ? I'm explaining why I started to answer but couldn't go through with it.....

If a line changes then it will always change to ahexagram with a different number. The one it changes to isn't the future but the whole backdrop to the question which may of course include elements of the future.

Have you read 3.2 in Hilary's book ?

BTW if your answer of 3.2 was based on a false prediction then it may be quite meaningless so it's better to start with a new question IMO. Like a question about the current potential for a new partner....where you are with that, is the time ripe...? But I don't think there's any answer in Yi that says "you will meet someone in May". There are people here who do that kind of prediction, but I personally I dismiss it.

Anyway, thanks so much for your reply Trojan. The prediction for May was made with divination method called "Lenormand", which are cards not with iching . I just wanted to see what the iching had to say because with the Lenormand spread it looked like it may also be business related - so naturally I asked what type of commitment it would be, and iching brought up marriage as well without me mentioning the word. So I found that quite interesting and decided to ask here for some insight .

I'm female by the way and 10 years ago it's true. I was too young to procreate, lol. Actually, technically I wasn't, but morally -- yes. Hmm, I don't want to necessarily have any more children (I have 2 already) just wanted to see what the 'commitment' would be about [business or love?] iching answered with this .

Ahh..thanks for clarifying about the changing lines/hexagrams. Makes much more sense to me.

Update! I did get a really good opportunity - really nice guy, but not my cup of tea! He is the serious type..all around good person that hopes to some day get married. Just not my type..& yes he spoke about marriage.
