Hexagram 30.2.3 to 38 - potential romantic affair?

Hello everyone!

I've been reading some od your readings and advices and comapring them to my readings for a while now... and finally decided to join the community. I think it's really helpfull and would like to share thoughts in the future.
I've got the book on I Ching and have been using it like an amateur and I find it really insightful and helping to sort my thoughts.

My recent reading was on a question about a secret crush on a man I know just from passing by and saying hello at work (different departments and no work related communication - actually, no real communication at all - only eye contact, smiles and hellos). I don't know why, but I've been thinking about him lately and I'm considering on making the first step and contacting him online. I also asked if he was single and do I stand a chance with him and got 26.5 to 9.
On my question what would happen if I contact him with romantic expectations on my mind I got 30.2.3 to 38.

Earlier I used to get hexagram 30 and always turned out to be positive, but there was a time I asked about work related exam and got it (in combination, either as a result of changing hexagrams or it changing into others) and I failed the exam. Now, I know it's all dependant on the changing lines (some of which described the situations which later happened) but I'm having doubts on general double positive ending up negativley.

My thoughts are that it's kind of positive because of the changig line 2. Line 3 suggests that the good fortune is not set to last because he is a bit older. And the final hexagram talks about unity between different genders/charaters. But I'm somehow not sure that I'm right.

So... I woul really like to hear your thoughts and advices - should I do it (I actually decided to do it) and what to expect on the topic?

Hi M. You asked two questions in one for the first one, I would say it's a loaded question hehe... but the answer you got of 26.5 is maybe indicating that he might somehow be restraint romantically... but doesn't hurt to go for it and get to know him. For the second question though, line 30.2 for me usually indicates to take the middle road, don't be too extreme in professing your love just now, especially if you got 38 as a resulting hexagram, which indicates opposition. Line 30.3 also indicates that there can be some sort of letdown, so I would be careful taking the romantic route. I would probably ask: concerning this individual what's the best way to present myself to him? Something to that line, or just ask for some advice for the situation. 38 does advice to take easy, just saying Blessings!!

Hi juaneros! Thanks for your comment! I know it's a loaded question, but I thought it's related because if he's in a relationship then I don't have a chance (and don't want one if the cost is to interfere with other peoples relationship). But I understand your point - I won't combine the questions further on.

Do you think the hex 38 - opposition - is a negative one as a answer to this question? I found it soothing because it's talking about uniting the opposites (sexes - male and female).
I do my readings with Bolfelds book, and I'm not including the quotes because I do it in a foreign language.

I asked your suggested question ("What's the best way to present myself to him to result in a relationship?") and got 28.1 to 43.
Yi said that the situation is too much of something, but to be kind and go a little further to have an attractive appeal. Resulting with determination, to have a goal and to show respect.
Am I right?

Non related to the above mentioned man, I asked if I'm going to be in a relationship by the end of 2019 (because I feel I really need that) and got 13.2.5 to 14.
Current situation - lovers (?) but line 2 says it's bad luck to find someone similar? Line 5 says it'll begin badly but end up good due to people around? And finale comes as 14 - owning a lot - biggest success?
I really don't understand that one...
