Half a quick thought - I really, really should be working. But my first idea on 22 as a comment on giving advice is that presentation is all-important. You may have bitten through to the essence of the matter, but you also have to express it purely, clearly and create an image the other person can relate to.

38 unchanging I would agree means 'totally different view' - but unchanging, there is absolutely no guarantee the two views can ever find common ground. Maybe the point of having no second hexagram for either of these answers is that results are not guaranteed!

BTW, I haven't even read this thread properly yet, so this is very pure, very general interpretation.

It seems to me that most of what this forum is about is advice. I personally feel that 'unsolicited' is just a matter of degree in the advice business, and its within the perception of the advisee whether it be 'solicited/unsolicited. IMHO, I think the key word here is 'perception'.

kevin, kind thoughts there. no, my confusion about the meaning of 30 in this matter has been utterly cleared up, clarity, peace, no more conflict about the meaning of 30 in the context it was framed, thank you. strange how a hexagram can become a talisman that absorbs the question. 30 is indeed one that could do that, it seems.
