Hexagram 31 no changing lines: question about marraige- thanks all

Hi,

Though I have been a frequent reader hear, this is my first question... a very important one.

I have been made a marriage proposal by my partner, with whom we now have been 4 years together. He was my big love but we got together only 2 years later we met, because he was in a relationship with somebody else then.

i feel now, I love him but its not the same, we are arguing a lot, i don';t feel the spark any more ....
I asked the I-CHING, "I want to split up with him, should I do it?"


and got 31 unchanging

Does this mean, "go marry him?"

or just the opposite?

I;m in doubt...

31 is wooing, and it is most appropriate for a question with respect to marriage. For marriage, it indicates smooth going and a very good compatibility, with a deep affection beneath it all. I should say that you ought to consider marrying with a caveat.Do not do anything that is perverse, out of line, or ethically or morally incorrect that would undermine the love and potential for a successful marriage.

you need to be open with him... to talk openly with him.... you need to experience this kind of comunication with him... it must be part of your love path before to say: yes i want or no i not want.

First, I appreciate what's been said already.

I see the 31 as gearing down to an earlier level from 32. You have no bond of commitment, as 32 would have in marriage. You are less committed or serious than 32. Saying you don't feel the spark, belongs more to 31 than to 32. So if there's a right time to be unsure or change your mind, it is during 31. Either that, or get to work on what causes it to stagnate or cause resistance, because going to 32 without having and keeping 31 is a drag.

I must think on your directions, and will reply with how I perceive the i-ching answer now. I guess that's the best we can do here, give all the thoughts and circumstances for others to guide them with our experiences.

My first thoughts:

Usually people do not want to hurt, they influence with the best intentions. They just don't realize how much self-interest these intentions contain. So be careful. A nice kiss can in the long term turn out to be a nasty bite. Don’t blame the one who did it, just never do anything that does not agree with yourself.

As I understand it, he kisses me with his best intensions. I guess what the i-ching i saying is that he will be satisfied in this marriage, I have to decide whether it will satisfy me. He has proposed to me with his best intensions, it is up to me to give the answer.

I would want the i-ching to make the decision for me, but I can see i-ching is so much cleverer than me, haha . Telling me "it is YOUR decison"

that's interesting..... but it would be happen in a situation in which you get for example 31+-> 31 because the yi normally flow from 1-> 64 like an infinite tape.

in this case after 31 the situation will become 32... the upset of 31 is 32, and the opposite of 31 is 41 that shows what 31 isn't.

so after 31 the girl that will be given as bride... we get 32 the enduring.. like a marriage.

31 unchanging is about a open and sincere comunications... something that it's not seams to be from what i read from your first post.

I also had a Tarot spread laid for this question and the Tarot answer was,
"there is lots of true love and sincere deep affection between you, but the communication is lacking, unless you resolve this, there will be problems, otherwise the relatioship has the best outlooks"

so I guess in this light, 31 seems very appropriate....
