Hexagram 39: Limping into 15:Integrity (Related to Elective Surgery)

I need to have some elective surgery done and two possible slots are open for me. One is in early December and one is in January. This is not life-threatening in anyway, but it will be fairly intensive as it involves my jaw.

I asked: "Would it be best for me to have my surgery in December or wait until January?"

I received: Limping (39) changing into Integrity (15).

I interpreted this as waiting until January to do this...that perhaps there would be greater strength with a later time...but I would really like some feedback from anyone who might have more insight.

I would interpret 39.5 > 15 as book it for whenever friends will be available to help you out.
When having a dilemma, I like to ask two questions, result if A and result if B, maybe try that too?

I Ching apart, Mercury (who also rules speech hence jaw) will be retrograde all December. Not a great idea to have elective surgery during that.

formulating questions in this manner will not help you gain clarity. Whatever answer you'll receive you'll not be clear if it relates to the first or second part of your question.
Ask again and submit your question in a way that could receive a clear answer:
1) How best to proceed regarding have my surgery in December?
2) How best to proceed regarding waiting until January for my surgery?

39 to 15 - Your posting tells me that you know that January feels better. From a casting point of view, I feel that it says limping for a while will not be a problem, possibly better timing, Christmas, work. I get a sense this is better, but of course with anything medical only you can decide what to do. When I had an operation last year, I had this line and did wait until a good time for me and all was well. This felt right for me - so I would be guided by your gut instincts on this

Hello Avebury. I was wondering if you might have time to update us on the outcome of your process here with Hexagram 39.5 > Hexagram 15? I recently drew this same and am having a dickens of a time with it! Thank you in advance
