hexagram 40. 6. 5.4 > 59 Letting go?

Hello everyone,

I am having a relationship with someone who want things to get more serious. I am not sure I want the same, although I like him a lot, so I asked the i-ching what kind of relationship should I have with this person, if any. I got 40.6.5.4> 59, which I understand means I should liberate from him, but I'm not completely sure. Also this lines talk about being dependant upon someone...could that mean he depends too much on me (or is the other way round? could be either, really...) Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you are not sure, let things be fluid (59) till you are more sure. It seems as though something in the situation isn't quite right - either the other person or some belief you have (line 4). You can deliver yourself from the problem (line 5) and it seems as though you will, quite efficiently (line 6). Liberate yourself from any implication that you should do what the other person wants simply because he wants it.
