Salutations followers of the i-Ching. I'm a bit of an amateur at this but have always found the i-Ching to be an invaluable guide and source of meditation when I'm not sure what to do next.

My partner split up with me a while ago, because she said she wasn't in love with me. But we have stayed in touch largely because we still really enjoy each others company. We've seen each other a few times since the break-up and each time we've talked for hours and hours. I've tried to respect her decision though and have generally not contacted her. But she has regularly reached out to me to see how I'm doing and to suggest meeting. After the last time we met up I wondered if she was beginning to miss me/have second thoughts about the break-up. She knows I am going for a new job and has twice now said that when I hear she will invite me over to have either a celebratory or a commisserations drink with her. I've been non-committal about this as I've started to find it hard to hang out with her as 'just friends'. I'm sure she will suggest meeting again and I plan to agree, but then, when I go over, as her if she still has feelings for me and be up for rekindling things.

...so I asked the i-Ching the following question: "Is X beginning to want me back?" I received Hex 43.2.4.6 (Deciding) changing to Hex 37 (People in the Home).

Weirdly, a while ago, when I asked "What would be the result of my turning my back on her and not chasing her?", I also got Hex 43 (with moving lines 2 and 4).

So this sounds like it will be a crucial meeting. Line 6 talks about the importance of speaking up and if you dont then the moment passes and anyway you have nothing to lose, so just do it.....and I'm thinking that if I do go over and see her and lay it on the line to her that it may go one of two ways:
- a definitive 'no' (in which case at least I get closure)
or
- a change of heart (if I avoid aggression, let myself be led?)

I'd love to know what anyone else thinks as I can argue this either way!

Thank you all, bows

It sounds like she is "deciding" but the family hexagram is not necessarily romantic, it is often the wider family or people in the family space.
It is never bad to pick a careful time to talk without anxiety and with compassion, but be prepared for a "no" answer that you should also try your best to be happy with (having also their best interests in mind).

Thank you Win_Po. Yes the family hexagram is very apt for her as she is looking after her mother and she also has a young daughter, so this may be where her energies are focused right now. I did also wonder if I should turn down any invite to meet, explaining it was just too difficult. I did a reading on this and received Hex 58 (Opening), moving line 4, changing to Hex 60 Measuring. This seemed to say that this was the correct course of action "negotiating opening, not yet at rest. Containing the afflication brings rejoicing"
