Hello, I am new to I Ching and to this forum so I'd like to introduce myself and apologize in advance for any blunders in communication :)

I'd like help with interpreting the result I got for an I Ching reading regarding a crush I have on my coworker..To give some background I have been at my current job for about 5 months and met him shortly after starting. We haven't said much to each other, other than being polite and greeting one another but I have always had the feeling that he was interested in me..although that could just be me projecting :)

There have been rumors that he is dating someone else in our department but it's not as if I know him well enough to ask, and even if I did he hasn't given me solid evidence of a mutual attraction for me.

So the question I asked I Ching was: Why hasn't Will approached me?

Here is my result:
The present is embodied in Hexagram 45 - Ts'ui (Gathering Together): The king will repair to his ancestral temple. It will be advantageous to meet with the great man. Then there will be progress and success, though the advantage must come through firm correctness. The use of great victims will be conducive to good fortune, and in whatever direction movement is made, it will be advantageous.

The first (bottommost) line, divided, shows its subject with a sincere desire for union, but unable to carry it out, so that disorder is brought in to the sphere of his union. If he cry out for help to his proper correlate, all at once his tears will give place to smiles. He need not mind the temporary difficulty. As he goes forward, there will be no error.

The second line, divided, shows its subject led forward by his correlate. There will be good fortune, and freedom from error. There is entire sincerity, and in that case even the small offerings of the vernal sacrifice are acceptable.

The situation is shifting, and Yang (the active masculine force) is gaining ground.

The future is embodied in Hexagram 58 - Tui (Joy): There will be progress and attainment, but it will be advantageous to be firm and correct.

The things most apparent, those above and in front, are embodied by the upper trigram Tui (Lake), which represents joy, pleasure, and attraction.

The things least apparent, those below and behind, are embodied by the lower trigram K'un (Earth), which is transforming into Tui (Lake). As part of this process, docility and receptivity are giving way to joy, pleasure, and attraction.

I would greatly appreciate some guidance with this reading! Thanks :)

Here at OnlineClarity we regard the second hexagram as the context in which you are asking your question, not the future result. Often it represents our wishes.

Hexagram 45, gathering together, often makes reference to a group. Indeed, you are both co-workers, working for the same employer. So you are both members of the same general group.

I think the moving lines are encouraging you to open up and say to him something that indicates your inner state of being interested in him.

I suppose you are aware of the dangers in general of having a romance with someone you work with. If the romance goes sour, it could mean you would be forced to leave your job.

That said, there is a lot of room here for your developing a very pleasant relationship with this co-worker.
