hi there to you all...can anyone help with this...i asked the i ching if i would get an answer to an important email i sent recently...the answer i got was hexagram 58 (which in the translation i have...stephen karcher's 'total i ching' is all to do with communication)...line 6 changing to hexagram 10 ...the text for line six in my book is...'Prolonging the opening...Draw out the words...Express it, extend the joy and pleasure'. It then says of this line...'Extend the opening and possibility for connection...don't let go of this opportunity...draw it out as far as possible...express yourself...keep the possibilities open...you will be very sorry if you simply let go...this could be a lasting source of joy and pleasure'...interesting answer...what does anyone think about this? thanks sparkler:)

I think you should just wait until you get an answer to the email (or not).

I don't think it's cynical. For a long time I've been giving people a hard time when they ask a question that I think can be easily answered in ways other than consulting the oracle. I mean, you're going to find out if your email gets answered, right? You don't need the Yi to forecast that, right?

When people use the Yi to ask about things they can find out on their own, it's like using a radar unit to locate the position of your friend who's standing right across the street from you. It's an 'open your eyes' situation, not one that needs special instruments like the Yi.

"i asked the i ching if i would get an answer to an important email i sent recently...the answer i got was hexagram 58.6 > 10."

Hex 58.6 says that you are getting to carried away with this affair, it is starting to dominate your life, therefore, don't put all your hopes on this, be sensible and do other things.

Hex 10 you have taken a risk by sending the email and he sees no harm in it, so I would imagine that you will receive an answer but you must remain calm and patient. Be courteous, be polite and be respectful otherwise you will screw it up.

ok dobro...fair enough...but what seems straightforward to you may not be to others...the issue is a little more complex than 'will i get an answer', but i did not want to go into all of the issues on here...the person concerned has not been very communicative lately...and thanks very much willowfox for your interpretation...makes a lot of sense:)
