Hexagrams changing to their opposites

Hello all,

It's been a long time since I have participated in this forum but I think I could use some help with interpretation now.

I'm not looking for help with a particular reading but for some ideas about a general situation and the set of really unusual answers I received.

The situation in brief: I'd been in the courting stage with someone for quite some time, then we had a talk a few days ago and we've not been on speaking terms since then. I thought that maybe it was time to cut off every channel of communication with him; didn't feel like it but I thought that it was time to forget about the whole issue and move on. And, I have to point out, this would be the realistic thing to do; there is absolutely nothing that would suggest otherwise.

Just to be sure I wasn't making a mistake, I asked the Yi a couple of questions and the confusion they created led to more questions and so on. The thing is that I've been consistently receiving more or less the same answers for different questions - all in the context of leaving the whole thing open.

I've been receiving 02 unchanging (especially for questions about what to do) and 1 unchanging. I've received 02 changing to 01 twice in the last four days, 01 all lines changing to 02 more than 5 times. I got 19 changing to 01 several times, 24 changing to 01 several times, 23 changing to 01 a couple of times, 08 changing to 01, 20 changing to 01; 43 changing to 02, 28 changing to 02. Yesterday I got 44 all lines changing to 24 and the day before 12 changing to 11. And I must have gotten a couple of more hexagrams with all or most lines changing. Quite a few unchanging hexagrams as well.

Truth is I've been doing a lot of readings because I'm utterly confused. I mean wtf is going on? I'm not asking you to interpret the situation for me. But has anyone had such weird readings in the space of just a few days? What am I supposed to do with those readings? I'm utterly overwhelmed. I just don't get it; I don't know how to handle the answers I receive.

I realize the way my post was written was confusing and possibly not interesting. It reflects my confused state of mind.

Just one question out of all the questions I have, if anyone would have something to advise.

I keep getting hexagram 01 changing to 02. The questions differ; I guess I have to have a look at them and find the common thread there. My question is, what do you do when you get hexagram 01 all lines changing to hexagram 02. What is the querent's role? Is it passive or is it active? What is the actual advice? I can't seem to make heads or tails of the different interpretations when all lines are nines.

I know this is a rare combination of lines to get so not many people have received it as an answer. But if anyone has a clue, I'd appreciate their help.

To me all these readings suggest something important happening, that also has a certain symmetry and is quite a lot to handle. But don't let the readings intimidate you, it just seems like an opportunity to understand something about relationships. Considering 1>2 I think it's saying there's a lot of power/a lot of oomph in the situation but that you may have to go along for the ride for awhile without knowing. Or maybe I'm projecting lol. It could be very meta in talking about mirroring. Maybe your experiences can be mirrors for each other. Figure out how and you're golden. You can also do the step by step change method, I do find this helps clarify but usually just because it made me ponder more deepy. Maybe meditate on 1 and 2 and their relationship for a few days. Hope that helps.

Well, if something is happening, it is happending beneath the surface. Or maybe I should anticipate powerful changes, who knows?

For the time being, I have started tracing the questions that got me the 01 > 02 answer with the hope that I will find a common thread. So far the only thing I've come up with is perhaps a general admonition to leave things open. But I'm only speculating.

I don't know. I may start a thread in the Exploring Divination section about 01 > 02. And if anything comes out of this, I will certainly come back and report.
