Hidden Message in 21...

Hi everyone...I have been a lurker here for a long time, and just love the board. I find the I ching fascinating, and it the imagery as even come up in my dreams lately.

Something happened to me yesterday that I cant help but think is a message to me

I was eating supper, it was two year old wild game(edited to add that it was moose, not bison) that had been frozen for that whole time..I had a rib on my plate, and i wasnt all that excited to eat it, becaseu it tasted dry and old (even though it had been slow cooked all day and should have been yummy!). I took a few chewy bites and then looked at it in my hands and seen a piece of metal in it. I picked it out, and it was a piece of the bullet used to kill the bison...just a knarled up, yucky looking piece of copper from the end of the bullet. It freaked me out, and i stopped eating.

It seemed odd, becasue i had come across the lines of 21 many times in the past, but i am unsure what this might mean. I didnt actually "bite on" it...i noticed it first...so some way of warning me of a situation coming up that could be one of the lines of this hex?

And which line would resemble my experience the most? maybe 4?
I did have a bitter taste in my mouth for a few hours yesterday...even though i hadnt bitten into the actual bullet piece

I know this is a message to me about my life..I just need to know more about what line this experience would most likely resemble, or what it all might seem to hint at?

I appreciate any help you guys can ofer....I did find the experience very strange

What happened to you is interesting, but I'm not sure it's significant, cuz there are two ways to look at it:

1 It's just a coincidence that you 'lived' an image from the Yi. There's no message for you in the experience (other than the fact that sometimes one finds metal pellets in bison meat).

2 Life is communicating to you via Yi images, and you're actually LIVING one of the images. In your case, it would be either 21.4 or 21.5.

21 is about working through a resistance of some kind, and very often the resistance in question is something that must be worked through in order to bring about justice and a right solution to the issue. So, look at your life. Is there an issue in your life right now where there's some imbalance or injustice that has to be worked through, chewed through, bitten through so that rightness can prevail?

Could it be that it is a very direct message? You started to eat even though you didn't want to.

Your 'guts' tell you lots of things, in all situations. Some people listen to them without doubting the message for a second, others barely hear them. Hearing that voice is important, but of course in modern society it is not always possible to act on it. You cannot lie down and sleep because you feel you need it in the middle of a meeting. You cannot kick your in-laws out of the door because you suddenly cannot bear with them any longer. So you have to find a middle road.

But there are things you should always heed. One of them is what your guts tell you you can eat or not. If you go against that one, you shut up that inner voice, because food is something very essential. Eat this, not eat that. It doesn't come from your thinking brain but from much deeper, your limbic brain I think.

Could it be a message to listen more to your own inner voice instead of social demands? Not adapting but biting through matters. But of course I don't know if that applies. Only you can know.

very interesting occurence, and very interesting takes.

I totally agree that the guts tell you the truth. During one of the most wonderful years of my life, I ate lotsa dunkin donuts because I craved them, and I felt so healthy and happy that year. Every so often I get a very strong craving for ring-dings. And I eat them! some may disagree, but my motto is 'no resistance'...if I resist, the craving never goes away, if I indulge, very soon after I no longer desire the treat at all.

In this case, it is also a possibility that there is something "you cannot stomach" but nevertheless might need your attention, might require you to bite through and get to ther heart of the problem. A frozen piece of meat seems to imply something that has crystallized/hardened, but has not gone away. It is yucky to look at, you'd rather throw it away. BUt in line four, the arrowhead in the meat is not to be eaten, but found. It points to something critical. once you find it, you can throw the old meat away.

I got line 21.4 once when my daughter was in terrible stomach pain. She was a small child and in so much pain that she actually got down on her knees and was praying to God to take it away! We didnt know what to do, calling doctor, ready to go to the ER. The she vomited, got it out of her system, and quite suddenly , she relaxed. It was over, the pain went away.

A bullet is something hard to bite and hard to swallow. What was the mening of this bullet? Who sends it to you?

That's what it is: a bullet sent to you.

Before to receive the bullet the bison was not but a piece of meat in your plate. Now, when you have already received the message, the bison will be your brother. Now you will love and defend the wild life because the same bullet that killed your brother arrived to you, and you are still alive. You're lucky.

Save the wild part of yourself. You feel yourself strange because we use to close our consciousness to that sort of reality. Sometimes we are pushed to choose between life and death.

I have been thinking about this alot....
I agree that sometimes things just happen, but this i beleive, was one of those times when i was to pay alot of attention to the message.
I didnt want to eat the meat as soon as i seen it....but it was cooked at a family event and i felt like i had to..(i still didnt even mentionit to them what had happened..just my husband afterward..i showed him the copper piece)
The interesting thing for me, is that after i thought a bit on the nature of the meat, the 2 years is significant. I posted another thread in shared readings ("Will the psycho never go away" ) about a woman who keeps disappearing and reappearing to get attention form my husband. She has been in the background form the beginning of our relationship, as he chased her for a few years before we even dated. I think she is hooked on the attention, and hates that i have taken that away from her...she misses him and having that connection. We just about split up over it once, and that was 2 year ago.
There have been repreives where she takes off again for ahwile..she is quite the gemini But she just "reappeared" again lately with a message to him on facebook, trying to rekindle their "friendship". Atleast he told me about it, but i am just exhausted trying to deal with her. I want her to go away...but i know she just will never cease
In the other thread, i mentioned that in the reading i did about her, i asked "what does she want with my husband" and got 6.6-Conflict with line 6 changing to 47 Oppression

I think my husband does have some residual feelings for her, but has mde the choice to stay with me(we have a child together too). His strategy is to just ignore her, becasue it takes her power aay. HE thinks that to engage her in any way will just encourage more action toward us in whataver form. I dont even know what i think anymore.
I dont know how to handle it at all. I do know that she was really mad at us the last time she was here, becaseu she felt we "hurt' her image around town
Trying to integrate the meat thing, and the 6.6 message....
For those into astorlogy, her south node is conjunct my 12th house sun, if that means anything (she does make me feel insane lol)
This is definately one of those things i wont be able to brush away...

Hex 21 says when your relationship is being interfered with by another, this woman, you need to not only persevere in the face of adversity but you need to do something strong to rid your lives of her, as the hex says she will not go away of her own accord. The hex further says that she needs to be punished, and as this hex has to do with the law, then perhaps a phone call to your local police officer might just make her think and therefore deter her from any future action towards you or your husband. You must definitely take some action to get rid of her.

Better late than never?

I know this is an old thread, but your information about the bit of bullet you found in the meat rang a bell. I had a boyfriend once whose parents were descended from the Taraumara (sp?) people in northern Mexico. Don't know if it's part of the NA beliefs, or just their own, but they believed that people could "witch" you, and it would show up with odd things appearing in your body, like bits of bone, metal, etc.

Then you mention about this girl bothering you and your husband. Maybe she's intentionally or inadvertently sending you "witchy" thoughts, which are harming you. Don't know about you, but I believe that health is the best medicine--she can't harm you if you're healthy, so the best way to deal with this (aside from calling the police, and/or ignoring her) is to be happy and healthy, and wish the same for her (but step outside her circle of influence, since you can't make her happy, and your husband can't--she's just messed up and dragging you into it).

Just ran into your post while researching hexagram 21, and found lots of good advice here
